The "dividing line"/"transition point" is called the yokote. Knowing this alone can make your knife %20 sharper.

My wife says I'm OCD . Maybe , I don't think so . I think it started when I bought the Drill Doctor . I found the ken Onion edition at Northern tool . I bought every attachment and all the belts . I read all the instructions , and I got good results or I thought I did . I've leaned so much from Steve , Josh and Kyle through your videos that I'm sure I don't have OCD . But so help me God , I'm going to keep trying till I get it perfect ! The videos are a great concept , they show us on how to use the tools properly and what tool is best for the job . Whoever thought to do this needs a raise and a promotion! Keep up the great work!

Nice video. I appreciate that you mentioned the Spyderco (which I don't have) in a positive way instead of swearing that Work Sharp is the only tool that works. I do have a WS Ken Onion I got as a gift off my wish list. I started decades ago on oil stones, water stones, and have been a big user of the KME. I did some gear testing for Ron on the KME and love it. I'm getting lazy in my old age and the WS KO appeals to me for taking care of a variety of actual using knives and working edges. It's good to see the people of a company not trashing others and simply helping people get their blades sharp. There are many good tools and methods out there. Just from this video, I would suggest people look at Work Sharp products just for the positive attitude.

I’m gonna be buying that ceramic rod thing for my tanto, or well, the Pocket Sharpener on your online shop, with the diamond plate and the ceramic rod with the angles on the sides of the tool. Looks super easy to use and I love it (especially because I’ve never sharpened knives before)

I actually just got it. So far I’m loving it and it is easy to use. I would recommend this one over any bench made ones also since work sharp makes it for them anyways.

Good job on the Tanto sharpening tips. Years ago I rounded the transition point on my CRKT Tanto M16-14. Now I know better.

@@WorkSharpOutdoor no, 1500grit and or maybe a 2000grit plate
@WorkSharpOutdoor4 жыл бұрын
@@masonjack942 Our belts deliver fine grits like that but we do not currently have diamond plates. The Ceramic rod and plates are similar to about a 5,000 grit, and we have a whetstone with a 1k and 6k grit option. Again, no diamond with 1,500-2,000... yet...
