Loved your article;Very clear and easy to follow and a brilliant knife sharpening technique.The blurring in and out of focus bits hurt my eyes though.Have subscribed all the same.

Hi Clare - Thanks for watching, for your kind words, and for subscribing! If you haven't already tried this, you can click on the gear symbol and select the highest definition (HD). You might get a "sharper" image =) Thanks again.

it's sharpening the knife but the serated knife doesn't keep their shape if you use your method. it become regular knife since you sanded down the serrated parts. nice to know can use ceramic cup to sharpen but definitely not for serrated knife since it doesn't make new grooves on the knife.

Thank you for watching and your comment, and we are happy that you found something useful in the video. Regarding the sharpening of the serrated knives, we did mention at the end of our video that eventually the sharpening would wear down their teeth, but our point was that this method is a temporary solution so people can get some more use out of the knives before replacing them.

I tried this and it worked really well. Afterwards the bread knife sliced the bread rather than tearing a way through. The most difficult part was finding a suitable pot/cup with an unglazed bottom (oo err!!??)

Hi Chris - We're glad you find our video helpful. If you don't have any chinaware at home, then you can most likely find the cheapest possible stoneware mugs or plates in a dollar store. Thanks for watching and your comment.

Did you sharpen the serrated side or the flat side? My knives are more serrated on one side, so I don't know which side to sharpen
@ZLhow23 жыл бұрын
Hi Mert - Thank you for watching and your question. We sharpened on the serrated side a few times to keep its serrations sharp while we were looking for a replacement set of serrated knives. So this is meant to serve as a temporary solution. Otherwise if you keep sharpening this way, it will eventually loose its serrations. Hope this helps.

Hi Crimson - Thanks for your kind comment. We decided to sharpen our steak knives this way only because they were pretty much worn out. And this gave them extra service until we found a new set. Thanks again and stay sharp!

Hi - We just wash the mugs and continue to use them as mugs until it’s time for sharpening again! Thanks for watching and your question.
