Great video! I tried two other methods and could not get the 3 blades shaving sharp. I followed your instructions to the tee and got them razor sharp. Thank You!

Great info, thank you sir! But keep in mind, checking the sharpness of any blade...broadhead or knife...by running your finger parallel with the blade as shown here is also a good way to practice your blood trailing skills! Running your finger perpendicular to the blade is much safer and will prevent the ouchies!

Why is this oil made on the sharpening stone? Thank you.
@vantagepointarchery Жыл бұрын
"Applying oil to a stone isn't a new practice - I and many others have been doing it for years. The only issue it has caused is a bald spot on my arm from testing our VPAs before the Indiana whitetail season. If it did have a negative impact on the stone, sacrificing a $12 item every few years for razor sharp broadheads is worth it to me. The game I hunt deserve my best and that includes my broadheads. I would say if you have been successful in getting your heads sharp using water, by all means use it. No question it is cleaner than oil. Thanks for the comment, enjoy the best broadheads on the planet!" - @PoeOutdoors

Are you having trouble creating a burr or is it the finishing part giving you problems?

@vantagepointarchery1953 for me every part. I've followed step by step and spent hours trying to get mine sharp and so far they're still so dull I can literally put pressure on the blades with my thumb with no injuries.

Followed step by step and still not anywhere near sharp. Wish you guys would just send them out razor sharp in the package.

Thanks for reaching out! We are sorry to hear you are having trouble sharpening our broadheads, and we appreciate your feedback. We are currently working on a solution to offer our broadheads razor sharp out of the package. What's a good email for you? We have some additional sharpening resources we can send your way.

Changing pressure as you progress through the sharpening process is very important, there is a feel to it. I enjoy sharpening, others don't which can have a lot to do with success or failure. Also, keep in mind there is a higher cost to offering a premium head razor sharp out of the package.
