Glad this how to video is on KZbin! I feel like a dummy the way I was trying to use it! The best test to see how sharp this makes a knife is a tomato! After watching your video, I jumped up and sharpened my first knife with this little gem, and you could lay the blade on top of the tomato and it just dropped right through it EASIER than butter! I also have a beautiful set of Rada kitchen knives and they too are awesome! Bought them at the Dutchman Store in Iowa! Inexpensive knives that are as good as any professional expensive knife on the market! You can get tons of Rada Knives and sharpeners on Amazon! Great for gift giving! The sharpener is so fun to use! Thank you! PS your sound effects were cute too! Lol

Good deal! That is the very reason I purchased it as well! Those concave heads can be very challenging to get sharp. This solved all those problems for me.

Does whetting or oiling the stones make them work better, produce a finer edge?
@hcbstrings92574 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, it most definitely could. The oil would reduce friction and lead to a smoother drag. But, I’ve found I can do that just by lightening the pressure on the head.

Mike, forgive my ignorance. If it is a straight blade, it'll work. I have sharped broadheads, kitchen knives, outdoor knives, and anything else I had tried. Let me know if you need any more assistance!

@@hcbstrings9257 Thanks. But I've heard these pull through sharpeners can be very hard on knives and may even ruin them in the long run by taking off too much steel. Is that true?
@hcbstrings92575 жыл бұрын
@@michaelorsini9695, i use them all the time and haven't noticed this yet. I am sure it takes some metal off, but i know it depends on how hard you push down while pulling too.

I am laughing so dang hard...because I have been pulling my knife IN BETWEEN those little wheels sideways and thinking "This is awful loose...how do you tighten it for a skinnier knfie?" 😂

@@hcbstrings9257 I was putting the knife blade every which way imaginable other than the correct way until I saw your video. Afterwards I sharpened everything in the kitchen drawers, all my scissors and a machete. If I could I'd sharpen the lawnmower blades with it!

Thank you for making this video. After watching I found a deal on eBay 3 for $19.00. I have used the spyderco triangle sharpener for years with some success but when the triangle stones get dirty it is hard to get them clean enough to sharpen again. I carry the traditional 3 bladed Case and Schrade pocket knives and the smaller blades are too small to be clamped in sharpeners. I think this Rada sharpener will work fine by using light pressure to maintain a good edge on my knives. Plus a couple of friends will have a late Xmas present.

The only issue with a RADA sharpener is they are made for 440 stainless steel blades that are thicker then a broadhead so they will take a lot of extra metal off which will change the weight of the broadhead. My mom has worked at the RADA plant in waverly Iowa for 33 years now and I use one to sharpen mine all the time. You just have to be careful not to run them through too many times so it don’t throw off the weight.
@bowhuntznj5 жыл бұрын
Do you use anything to polish the edge or just go hunting straight off the Rada?
@hcbstrings92575 жыл бұрын
It'll shave hair when I finish. The rada does leave a more jagged sharp than a smooth stone, but I believe that to be a good thing.
@bowhuntznj5 жыл бұрын
Ok so you don’t strop it or use a ceramic rod like some guys do? Thanks
