That's how I do it; use my shop vise to hold the blade. Works like a charm.

@auralsonicwaves7170 thanks for watching. I had a vice but had no permanent place to mount it. I've been using this method for more than 24 years, and it works fine.

Too expensive ($220) for me. I do the same thing that Bryan does except I use my shop vice to hold the blades.

I work in an outdoor power equipment shop. I would get fired if I sharpened our customers blades like that

@bobivanski5635 with all due respect, whoever you work for doesn't know what they're doing when it comes to sharpening blades. I've done it many different ways, and other than having a vice of some sort of jig to hold the blades, this is the best way by far. I've been doing it this way for 25 years. I've never had any issues cutting lawns and haven't an issue til yet mechanically. What do you do that's different???
