06:20 graduating high school early can really be a mixed bag if you don’t go into it with a plan. I graduated as a sophomore after failing my freshman year (distracted by video games and girls) and I feel like I seriously missed out on the high school experience. My local community colleges wouldn’t admit me without parental consent so I ended up being directionless for two years until I turned 18. Really figure out what you want to do and what your viable options are before you put in the work to graduate early and find yourself stuck just because you’re a minor. In hindsight there was a lot that I could have done like online ACE credits, but I was unaware of options at the time. I eventually enlisted into the military and it was hands-down the best decision I could have made. I earned well over 60 ACE credits through military training and only had to do some writing classes to get my associates. Now I’ve got the next seven years of housing and tuition paid-for through military benefits.

why didn't they let you go to college? I found out my junior year of high school I only had courses left to graduate. I took them and had no junior year, it became my senior year. I graduated at 16 and went to my cc for my first semester with no problem. Now I am trying to do the same for college even though in my opinion it is way harder. I learned about the military option you are talking about but it didn't really fit for my goals but it is amazing that you got your tuition payed and benefits!

I graduated high school a semester early by taking a college class over the summer at a community college during my junior year of high school. To add more to the Dual Enrollment option. Some online colleges allow students to enroll into Sophia Learning and Straighterline programs. They are low-cost classes that equal college credit for a course. As long as you pass with a C or above it transfers in as a full class completed. It's a great option and honestly easier than an actual class. You pay a monthly membership to take the courses. If I remember correctly around $89. You can complete a class in a few weeks and some classes can be finished in days. Great option to finish up your general education classes as well!

The reason why not many people do dual enrollment is because it's very stressful when you're in high school especially when you have other extracurriculars and since taking college classes are much harder it's very hard to balance it out with high school work. I did dual enrollment and finished with 46 credits my senior year of hs and finished my AA 18-19 (had to take one more class this summer) and now I’m 19 half way through my bachelors and I may finish by the age 20-21 depending on how many classes I take each semester. In my area we had many opportunities like collegiate where you graduate with your associates degree then you have only 2 years after to finish your bachelors, I would’ve done it but you had to know what you wanted to do, so what I did was finish all my gen Ed’s by senior year and then start after. It’s honestly the best I loved dual enrollment because you fulfilled both your highschool and college credits, and it runs by semesters instead of wasting your time with a class that took all year

Have you ever done a video (or would you consider doing a video) on astrobiology? I just came across it and started researching it the other day and it seems like a really interesting field of study. There is only like one college that offers a bachelors specifically in astrobiology but it is a pretty interdisciplinary field that can involve several different sciences. In the context of this video Indiana has IvyTech, which is a community college that offers a lot of dual credit classes in high school. I found out in May that I had taken so many of these classes that I could get an associates degree if I completed a couple of classes over the summer, a couple that I am working on now, and a couple next semester.

Ohio's dual enrollment program lets you take up to 30 free credits per year, up to 120 total. It sounds crazy, but if you start early enough you could graduate high school with a free bachelor's degree. Also, a good alternative to early HS graduation is to take DE full time (if your program allows). It's effectively graduating early, but you get to take classes much cheaper.
