Hi, I love your videos! I recently adopted some A. vulgare from my yard after you recommended them in a "best isopods" video, and I've been enjoying your isopod playlist nonstop :-) I wanted to comment here because I noticed while watching this vid that around the 7 minutes 50 seconds mark you display the recipient's name and address. If she's okay with that then all is well but I just worry it might have been included by accident? In which case I was wondering if you have any way of editing the address out of that little section of the video to protect her privacy? I work in security so these kinds of things just jump out and glare at me >_< Thanks for taking the time to read my comment and I hope you and yours are doing well!

Hello, video starts with box labeled as "Armadillidium bolivari" but bolivari belongsto Porcellio genus :) Also putting substrate into shipping cups is not good from obsious reasons (box rotates countlesss times during shipping and substrate can sufocate isopods) . Best option is just sphagnum moss and wet tissue. Not a single harm can be done like that :)

I was keeping mainly Ants, termites and now half my pet room is filled with isopods :D Its a great hobby, my son and niece are obsessed with them too now (thanks to me :D ) I love working with their morphs, creating new ones, isolating odd balls. Also very easy to maintain even in big numbers. My friend is keeping around 220 species of isopods and maintenance is around 6 hours per week.

question for you. If the receiver of the isopods has a P.O. Box where ALL their USPS mail goes to. Is temperature as big of a factor? Is there a danger to isopods overheating/freezing between origin and destination? I ask because some people (myself included) don't get our mail delivered to our door or even to a mailbox near our residence. We HAVE to have a P.O. Box. I also ask because I need to start selling/shipping but it's supposed to hit 90° here soon

It is in my opinion. It decreases the issue but in extreme hot or cold temps, the animals are still sitting on a truck/plane/loading dock somewhere while in transit. Good question.

Why do you add substrate? During shipping the box is moved around and the substrate can crush the ispods. I say this because I've seen it happen and know individuals that it's happend to...

After our first shipment, no losses so far and I've sent out thousands. Knock on wood. I understand your point but, that's what isopods do- they burrow. An inch (or less) of dirt will will not impact them. I've received them in paper towel and in sphagnum moss too and have had both dried out where some isopods were lost. Again, if what you are doing works for you, keep doing it. Thanks for the comment.

@@SupremeGecko Hmm, I see you like details. I’m planning on shipping either 1 or 2 deli cups of 10 isopods each. I can also ship starter culture of springtails along with them. What size deli cups would you recommend for 10 count medium sized isopods (Armadillidium vulgare, maculatum, gestroi, Porcellio laevis) These may come with a heat pack or cold pack.

@@siyg "I see you like details" I do, but more importantly, I like to give the right answer not a guess. Deli cups- we use 4 oz cups. For a box, if one to 2 cups, an 8x8x7 insulated (depending on season) should suffice.
