Great video Matt, I have been selling on eBay for about 4 years now and so much has changed. I used to buy the australia post padded envelopes instead of buying them online. I also used to go into the post office to send it, and would get charged for a parcel. I would sell a card for $5, with $3 but get stuck paying $10 on postage. I used to cut cardboard and stamp envelopes as I sold cards. After a few years of trial and error, I finally have a system that works, so whenever I sell a card, it takes less than a minute to package up because I have all of my supplies ready to go like you do. So much better than before when I was wasting so much time and money on postage and envelopes haha.

Cheers Matt! How does tracking work with this method?
@mattscardshop2 ай бұрын
Not covered unfortunately, you can get the tracked envelopes at aus post which are like $5, or registered labels at ~$6.50 :)

Great job Matt as always. Do have ever have any difficulties (people not receiving the item) sending just using stamps with no tracking? I started using a while a go now green domestic prepaid envelopes, comes in a couple of sizes. Can actually put quite a bit if you pack them correctly and has tracking. Check em out

Yeah I put tracking on anything $20+ Again was just too much to add into the video but unfortunately you do need tracking with anyone who may be dodgy...

Anyone know if you HAVE to use bubble mailers, or can you use regular envelopes?
@mattscardshop3 ай бұрын
You can use regular envelopes but i'd use thick cardboard. I think it's also expected for people to use padded mailers especially on eBay so I wouldn't be surprised if someone left negative feedback because of it.

hey man great vid like watching ur vids, just curious is there any specific reason why u dont get smaller bubble mailers that fit the 1 stamp guidelines like a normal letter so you can save 1.50 on shipping?
@mattscardshop3 ай бұрын
Pretty sure it has to be really thin for Aus Post to accept that as a $1.50 stamp and you’d almost have to use no cardboard for it which I’m not a fan of for protection purposes.

Tip - If you are going to hand it over at the counter the envelope needs to go through the slot without putting any pressure on it e.g. hold it at the lip and it drops through. I always post at the counter, I just keep it within the dimensions.
@mattscardshop3 ай бұрын
Yep but if there's even a little pressure, they price it as a parcel, which is why I don't put it through the counter most of time. Also depending on the post office, you can wait alot of time in line, but the red post box is everywhere haha

Can you use the label maker via the auspost website, or do you have to use the label maker software? what label size does the label maker make?
@mattscardshop3 ай бұрын
Not too sure about using it with Aus Post, I use Dymo's program and I just copy and paste the address in and print it. Label size is 54x101mm
