Whats the best camera settings for exterior in sunny weather? And settings for interior video when the sun is bright out? Thanks!! Love the content!
@A.Lewisfilms5 жыл бұрын
Hey James! Thanks for watching man! I'd say always use an ND filter for outside shots, especially if the sun is very bright. It's a massive improvement to your image in harsh conditions. Beyond using an ND filter, I'd say study the sun patterns around the home, if your looking for a more dramatic, cinematic shot then shoot early in the morning or in the evening for the best lighting conditions. If it's not within the ability to adjust the schedule then use an ND. Regarding inside shots, I'd say try to keep the lighting as even as possible and focus on the interior, don't get hung up on exposing for out of the windows and making your image to dark. If you want to show off a specific "view" out of the windows expose that shot properly then get right back to exposing for the inside. I would not recommend using an ND inside unless you're in a very reflective room like a big marble foyer...most rooms in a house are dimly or moderately lit. Take your time on the shots and exposure for each room, white balance as well. Use this ND - amzn.to/2Hx6O4W
@gurudeclan5 жыл бұрын
1:11 why the brightest part of the day? Wouldn't dawn or dusk give you better windows with interior lights on?
@A.Lewisfilms5 жыл бұрын
Great point! I think it has to do with your desired look more than anything. I do agree that shooting dawn or dusk gives an overall more cinematic image but if your working in a low light or dark space shooting at dusk will force you to jack up ISO. I'd say if you're trying to show off a "view" like if the home overlooks an ocean, lake, or city something cool than shoot those shots in dusk/dawn but for the majority of interiors I'd prefer to have the most window light available. I also don't like to solely count on the interior lighting because it can be very ugly or weird colored lights.

Hey! This video was shot with the Sony 6500 and the 10-18mm on AF. @@A.Lewisfilms Hi Alex, which lens would you recommend out of the two? I have an A6400 and thinking of getting the Sony 10-18mm but concerned the f4 in lower lit properties could cause noise. Hey Timothy! I've started shooting in 30fps and slowing down 80% is post so I can take advantage of the 4K but still, have some flexibility in post. @A.Lewisfilms5 жыл бұрын
I would shoot 1080 at 24fps and move slowly focus on lighting, composition, and simple movements. You can also do fun transitions to give the video more energy. For instance, a really simple transition could be to speed up the end of a clip and then speed up the start of the next clip it's called "speed ramping" to smooth out the transition. It's harder at 24fps but it can still be done. Personally I use Sony and I think you could get some great results if you purchased a Sony 6500 plus the Rokinon 12mm it's a great and cost-effective combo!

Why show something that isn't true and mislead people on how the results of a Zhiyun crane would look like.
@A.Lewisfilms6 жыл бұрын
Editing is apart of the entire process, if I color grade the video is that also misleading people because its not the "true" colors? I'm trying to provide some helpful information for someone doing there first real estate shoot, I'm not trying to mislead people into buying specific gear. Maybe you should be more concerned with making your own content rather than trolling on mine.

@@A.Lewisfilms > That's different Alex. Color grading doesn't affect stabilization in any way. (by the way if you were reviewing a G7 for its color reproduction and then showed color corrected footage then that's also false). When your focusing on the STABILITY of a gimbal which is the very core of its ability, showing post stabilization processed footage isn't exactly fair and validating you in good light. People shouldn't lose faith in you. You should build a brand of trust when you review these things. It can cause some poor soul to part with his hard earned money thinking the Zhiyun Crane will get him that kind of footage. I own one and it needs the ninja walk + post stabilization to make it look like those steadycam styled shots. The gimbal contributes only about 30% to the stability of the shot. Its more powerful as a remote pan head and for time-lapses. That is where it really does a job that we cant. This walk etc with a home made stabilizer and post stabilization will give you equivalent steady footage. Just saying, people believe people like you, so just be a little transparent in your review that's all. I hope im not coming off as being mean or something. Not intended.

Great video and you have a great website, too! However, I must say it seems "all about the market;" if I quoted $500 for any property in my area, the client would look at me as if I just arrived from another solar system...and hurriedly back away. No way, in Real Estate. Weddings like on Kevin's and your ALewisFilms wonderful websites? - yeah, 1200 - 2000 is fairly common here, though worth far more in your more urban market. One good thing here: Almost zero competition. Thanks for the helpful video - I am just beginning to learn at this point.. His and your work is just beautiful by the way. Thanks for the helpful video - I am just beginning to learn at this point. By the way, as a real estate photographer myself, I feel ya on those wall-to-wall mirrors (can do compositing in photos, but video? -Yipes).

Thanks for the comment! I appreciate you checking out the video and your kinds words about our wedding films! $500 is my standard price for Real Estate Tours in the Atlanta Market but It's not something I get very consistently...maybe once or twice a month but it's always a quick edit and nice payday!

Honestly this video lacked a lot .. great tutorial but just another lack luster KZbin vid. It’s not cinematic because you have a gimbal and a drone . Cinematic refers to a video looking like a cinema film. You need a cinema lens, a cinema camera... and the skill.

1. oh my god - what up with starting a video with ' what up' ffs grow up... 2. your smoke detector needs a battery 3. apart from that yep not a bad vid - clicked on a couple of your other vids to see but they all start with that teenager 'what up' (I'm trying to hard to be cool) phrase, so that's a no to subscribing sorry.
