Good Video Hugo. Another solution I have found to deal with the difference in exposure between inside and outside is getting super powerful LED panels. Nowadays they are super portable and cheap. Put a couple of them on light stands and light up the room like hell LOL ! this has really worked nicely for me. As you know , this is how professional production videos are done. Yes, Is more work but the final result is worth it. Well , at least for me !! , Better quality videos = get to charge more money :)
@HugoWill4 жыл бұрын
Alfio Lora thanks. Yes, as an option. I tried that too. But it only works in small spaces. When you have a huge open space living room, the lights won’t help, unless you have ton of them. And carrying too much lights isn’t most convenient option.

Great video. I just bought my first slider today and came across your video. Can you break down in simpler terms how to achieve the HDR time lapse? I was a little confused - thanks!
@HugoWill4 жыл бұрын
everytime slider makes a move, it triggers camera to shoot a picture. Camera itself is set to HDR mode, where it takes 3 different exposures and blend them in one. at the end you should get about 240 those HDR shots that will make you a 10 sec video with extremely high dynamic range
@flocusstudio113 жыл бұрын
@@HugoWill Hi Hugo. I am very impressed with your suggestion on time lapse. Do you have to edit each of the 3 brackets photos and then put them together in video? Or the camera setting combine them for you? I would love to see if you have another video talking about how to do this time lapse method. That timelapse tip was really amazing! The other only way I though you could achieve a similar result was to rig two cameras with the same exact setups and one exposed on the outside and one on the inside, then merge the two clips. Great video Hugo! I'm currently using the Tokina 11-16mm lens but have sunlight problems. The image is not as sharp as I would like and there is some purple distortion with my image sometimes. Have you had this problem?
@HugoWill5 жыл бұрын
Well we shouldn’t expect this lens to be sharp and not having distortions. It’s a very cheap lens. But for the purpose it works. Just make sure you shoot in 4k, so you can overcompensate the sharpness. For instance I wouldn’t use this lens for photography, because those distortions are horrible on still pictures, but those distortions are forgiven on video.

Ok then it's time to get creative. Find places that you can shoot. you didn't hear this from me, but.... is there an ikea near you? if so, get there early and shoot the room set ups that they have. Hit up furniture design stores, they have show rooms set ups (kitchen, bedrooms, living rooms. Shoot as many rooms - or set ups that you can, until they kick you out. Shoot those type of places. Youre probably gonna have to use your cell phone, get a great phone gimbal, shoot a bunch of places like that. and then create a catch all demo reel. then go back out and try to get someone to give you a chance.if youre really serious, get some biz cards, printed with a webaddress that they can see your work. All you need is one person to say yes. good luck man. I can hear the frustration in your voice. as my mom used to say... where there's a will -- theres a way.

Have you (or any anyone else) have any advice on how to go about pitching this idea to local businesses or tips on how to get started. Thanks

First of all, I would like to thank you for your wonderful tutorials. Last week I did my first Real Estate Photography and it was ok since the property just ok. I've been thinking of doing video instead of photography. Is it best solution to do both or just one? Pls let me know. Thanks
@HugoWill4 жыл бұрын
if you can do both good, it's more beneficial to do both. But pictures are more complicated topic. There are many amazing real estate photographers, and realtors don't like to take risk, and hire best ones. You photography has to be as good as the competitor's, which isn't an easy task.
@gregory714 жыл бұрын
Hi Hugo - Really great video. We had thought about the C200, but the RAW file sizes are huge. Too hard to edit for most of my photographers unless they have a super computer. That went ahead and got black magic but its hard to color grade without that yellow filmic color. I just want natural. Lastly, IBIS is important to me when using in combo with the gimbal. Did you look at the Panasonic S1 and Sony's offerings? My team all shoots photos with Canon btw. Would love to keep it all Canon if possible. One last thing. What settings do you shoot with the EOS R to avoid crop? Also, are you shooting flat?
@HugoWill4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. When I shoot with gimbals I don't really miss not having IBIS. I don't real estate shoot videos much on eos r lately, but if I need full frame, I just shoot in 1080p. it isn't bad on this camera. or I just simply use wider lenses for the crop mode, like Tokina 11-16. Regarding RAW workflow, yes, it's time consuming and need more computer power, but it's the best way to do it. the best control under color and dynamic range you have only when you shoot in RAW. RAW is critical for me. If i wasn't using c200, I'd use Blackmagic pocket 6k.
@gregory714 жыл бұрын
@@HugoWill Thanks a ton Huge. I'd love to buy you dinner next time I am in L.A! My entire team has Blackmagic 4K. Here is the question and debate I am having. iPhone 11 pro with editing looks as good as a high end dslr and it gets pretty scary what are your thoughts on this?
@HugoWill4 жыл бұрын
That is true, I've done some amazing real estate picture with iphone 11 pro and wide angle camera. The camera has so many smart features mad HDR works pretty well, and some realtor could actually go thru some basic real estate photography techniques and compositioning and actually take pics of properties. Maybe even video. However, realtors with high end properties will never do this. Those kind of properties must have great pics and video. It's like face of a realtor who represents it. Their clients have to see that their realtors taking an effort in order to sell a property. No one is gonna consider iphone pics and video as serious. And people in those circles, they know the difference. In conclusions, there is nothing to afraid. Professionals will still get their work.

That's a very valid question. Yes, lots of houses with yellow walls. those are the worst. Thats where the color depth is extremely important. Because realtors hate yellow, but you still have to show it close to real color, but many cameras don't render yellow well, unless you have at least 10bit recording.
