Hey Darious, I just wanted to say thank you. For the last 2 years I've been struggling so much with my writing and any idea I get, I either forget about it or I just work with it then give up. I felt like I couldn't do it despite so many times when I wanted to. My depression didn't really help either. I felt like anything I made would be terrible. But then I found your channel a few months ago and it opened my eyes and I can't describe how much your videos have inspired me. I've now wrote a script for a short horror movie and we're shooting it next week! And it's all thanks to you, your videos and your inspiring advice and guidance From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me believe in myself 😊

how do you record consistant audio for master shots/audio with out seeing the boom operator, do you just get the actors to act out there lines with out the boom operator, then move in for a close up have them redo thier acting then add a the boom operator but in post use that audio to cover the wide shot?

Hey Darius, I’ve been a fan of your videos for sometime and your channel is really helpful. I recall being in the fifth grade and we watched a video about finding theme and my teacher didn’t cancel the auto play and your video played. It was pretty funny. Just wanted to say I’d really like a video about horror films (like directing chase scenes) I always loved to go to my cousin’s house and just make movies. Most of them made no sense, but we enjoyed making them. I want to get the rebel t6i for my birthday and I’ve been brainstorming scripts for horror films. I hope you find this comment. Thanks for all your help.

@hugovioli7 жыл бұрын
I think you should think you about the relationship between your characters during the dialogue before deciding whether you shoot a « clean single » or « over the shoulder ». Separating characters within the frame usually represents a disconnection between them, and dirty frames usually represents a connection between them. You can also film character 1 in a clean shot, and film character 2 over the shoulder with character 1 taking a lot of a space in the frame to indicate that character 1 has moral power of character 2. Obviously, there are no fixed rules in cinematography, but these decisions affect a lot the viewer’s feelings of the relationship between characters and I don’t think you should take those decisions lightly. That being said, I love your channel thanks for the work you are putting in your videos!

Hey dude, I was wondering if you could talk about the cinematography of the critically aclaimed Breaking Bad? It's the show that got me into cinematography and really made me understand how much the camera affects the impact of the story. It's also the most gorgeously shot show I've ever seen (apart from Avatar: The last Airbender, but that's animated so I'm not sure if it counts).
