Do you duplicate de layer When you blur the background using the gausian blur filter? Or is it apllied to the original photo file?

I don’t use layers, I always keep a backup of my photo and do destructive editing, I find it more convenient

In your first photograph of Hannah (Photoshop section), was it not a beginner's error to have the tree growing out of her head? Otherwise a great informative video. I've taken note of a few tips .

I've noticed this a lot distracting things behind the models head. Obviously we all miss things etc, luckily this is such an easy fix. One of the best tips I ever heard was to SLOW DOWN. After every image look at it on the back of the camera and think what is the one thing I would change. Usually you pick up those little mistakes such as placement of the model or composition.
