This is all really informative and neat! To me Her face just looks way too plasticy and over exposed. Doesn’t fit with her hair/clothes/background etc

Hey, great review. I have a same situation like you. My 35 mm is super sharp on my Nikon z8. But 85 1.4 anything bellow F2.8 is unsuable, always misses the focus, on d800 dslr I thought is was problem with calibration, but on z8 mirrorless it should not be problem with calibration, cause focus is aquaired differently. How did you fix this problem? I sent the lens to Sigma to check out the lens.any thoughts from your side?

You're saying that a 28mm is similar to a 35mm. 28 mm is much wider andwill include more of the environment. Also a 28mm has more distorsion, compared to a 35mm.

Hi Bach !But do mirrorless cameras have a shutter with blades, or is it electronic? The fact that the ring is endlessly rotatable and not visible like in DSLRs makes me doubt.

To be honest, at the end of the day after you have edited both shots, I would be perfectly happy with either system. As you say, one may have more bells and whistles that may make it easier to get those shots, but I doubt that anyone could pick which camera took which shot.

If you really want to compare about DSLR vs Mirrorless, I think u should compare from the same brand. Because lens coating & collour character would be different in canon and sony brand, it would affect the result significantly beside the system (DSLR/Mirrorless). CMIIW

Great work and great model. Thanks for telling me about how a low aperture can sometimes only make the iris in focus with a longer focal length. Never knew that.

It is really a great content in all aspects! Thank you and model for time to make it! The only thing which makes no sense - comparing color reproduction between Canon and Sony, where one company is master of photography and another technology. Maybe now in 2024 their color science for newest cameras will get closer :) I am into moving from M43 to full frame and wondering if I should start with DSLR or mirrorless system - and Nikon or Canon. I am an amateur who is into classic photography and do not need existing and incoming features soon (but who knows the future?). It makes the process more joyful and sassy. The only thing is that prices of mirror kits are still high. That probably has own meaning. Do y'all have any thoughts or advices? 📸

Real question about photography for me is where to get friends and gfs to photograph them like that. I can learn anything else but this sounds impossible for me being introvert. I just upgraded my old 70D to R8 because i really enjoy casual photography of people and engaging with them but i have no company to actually use the camera. No youtube guide about that sadly.

I don't know how many times I've given a similar rant on other vlog sites. If you are reviewing lenses of which there are two versions, e.g. Sigma 50 f1.4 and Sigma 50 f1.4 art, specify which one it is in the title. Like most I am lazy and I prefer not to do detective work to figure out which one it is/was. So I guessed "art" but it wasn't until I went into your links that I learned I was right.

Definitely what you see here is that despite the fact that the Sony has more sharpness, the skin tones are extraterrestrial. It seems like Sony doesn't quite know what to do with light skin tones. On the other hand, in Canon the skin and its different tones look more gradual and natural.
