Great video. How do you deal with the ISO/exposure? Keep auto iso? I can imagine if it's a sunrise we want to capture, getting the right exposure is key

Awesome, Great explanation, cheers dude.

Great, does this mean if I need a shutter speed of 5 sec (like nightime of a Highway) then a 1 fps won’t work correct? So would a shutter speed of 1 sec work with 1 fps?

But what is the resolution of the video? Is it 4k 1080p?

You can set s&Q to xavcs hd 50mbps on anyting below 30fps or at least on my a6400 you can also use the professional picture profiles for color grading . This is a game changer for me i almost sold my sony for lack of timlapse options. Its not 4k but the the 50mps full hd is prettt good. The higher the frame rate the bitrate seems to drop lower.

Great instruction!!!! I am shooting a Sony A1 and I want to shoot stars at night moving across the sky with S&Q mode. Have you made a video, or know of one that will point me in the right direction?

I'd love to see that as well.

Thanks for the video and explanation. But could you also explain about shutter speed? You have used 1/125 for 1 fps... wouldn't it be correct to use 1/2'? Or this rule would not work here and everything would get overexposed, but possibly ould work for night timelapses? Thanks in advance.

you can play with the shutter to get the amount of Blurr that you want. it's true that 1/125 is fast but there was not a lot of movement in his frame except the clouds and the water..

Very interesting but which is the video resolution? Is it in HD quality only?

Hi - when I set 120fps in S&Q mode, an additional frame is displayed on the screen. Initially I thought this might mean that only a smaller section of the view is recorded, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Do you know what this frame is for?

It really is a bummer that you can’t go below 1fps in S&Q mode.

What if I choose 1fps on a 50fps timeline, and then interpret that 50fps footage as a 25p - will that make a timelapse more "sped up" or it would be pretty much the same as recording at 1fps on a 25p timeline?
@rogermccord3 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing it will take more still images at 60 fps timeline setting, and do the opposite of what you want. I suggest you do a test: run a time-lapse scene for 10 minutes at 24 fps setting, then one at 60 fps setting for 10 minutes. Then compare the length of each .mov. I'm. guessing the 60 fps setting will produce a .mov that's 2.5 times (60 vs. 24) as long...and thus slower, not faster in time-lapse effect.

Again a new Sony camera with a limping time lapse recording.How generous of Sony that is included in the firmware and finally we can do time-lapse without phones! ( Psst. do not tell anyone: my old Panasonic, 10 years older did that and better: the shooting interval could be set from 1s to 99min 59Sec !!!! and of course the nr of shots to 4 digit:9999) Sony allows us to set the interval time to 1 sec or more( or 1-60Sec only!!! in the ASIII, so 1 minute an that's it. what can I say, all those slow blooming flowers, nights shots and many other creative lapses when you would need 2-5 minutes intervals for some flowers slow blooming ( 3-5 days) gone with this otherwise good machine. What a pity. It would take 2 lines more coding in the firmware?
