I have been a math tutor for more than 20 years. Because my students sit across from me at the table, I have learned to write upside down and backwards. Due to COVID lockdowns, now a lot of my tutoring is remote via Zoom. I think I am going to implement this! Thank you for this explanation!

For those of you who don't know who Dave Devall is. He is the Guinness world record holder as the longest running weatherman. 48 years on CFTO TV Toronto. He always did his weather reports using a sheet of glass with bright grease pencils writing backwards. Dave made it look easy.

If you do two things, it would improve the quality of the video: use day-glow grease pens on the glass, and edge-illuminate the glass. The text will show up nice and clearly.

Hi! Your video is so helpful thanks! Can u let me know what kinds of lights are you using for the shooting? I have difficulties on lighting :(
@ScopeTraining8 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy, sure I am using 3 LED lights which I got from a friend and a construction (halogen) light. The lighting itself is tricky as you have to stop the light reflecting off the glass as it will be visible. I am travelling at the moment but you can kind of see the LED lights here: scopetraining.com.au/project-management/engaging-online-leaners/

@shahzadsoomro90565 жыл бұрын
I'm using dry erase regular markers but the are not visible. So are u using any led strip around the glass to illuminate it? And are u using a black backdrop or any other or u are simply recording against any background which is not illuminated. The site u refer to has very basic info where as ur videos quality tells that there is some trade secret that u r keeping from public
@ScopeTraining5 жыл бұрын
Hey, no magic. It's literally a pane of window glass on a home made wood frame. Nothing special. The markers the seem to work best are expo brand markers - but artline and other types of whiteboard markers are also fine. The background in this case is just a limestone wall, but in some of Nic's other videos on this channel he uses a white wall which is illuminated with standard LED lights.

@ScopeTraining7 жыл бұрын
The camera used in this video is a Panasonic GH3. You can use a phone to do it- that's what I started with. One tip would be to choose a camera/lens etc that is black as that will reduce "ghosting" on the glass.

so basically you are writing on a glass and inverting it i the software. why make it so complicated. see thats why you are not getting subscribers. write short and crisp scripts(very important). then please stop making thuh sound. what you can do is download a professional software and do a voice over on the software. then you can even cut out the thuh sound. and try to be more illustrative by giving some 3d pics or some normal pics too. just try and take us into you.
@AntoineGrangier5 жыл бұрын
i find the transparent board cheesy and corny. It is outdated, it looks ugly, it is usually difficult to see clearly, it is distracting. It was a good attempt back in the time to TRY to improve communication. It has failed. I now think it looks ridiculous. A bit like Star Trek pyjamas in the 1960'S series. A normal blackboard in the end is much more efficient and looks more natural.
@papanapofficial6 жыл бұрын
YOu almost tricked me, but i'm too smart to fall for this. Everyone knows that if you flip the video, you should be infront of the board, blocking the writing behind you, but its infront of you. How is that? The devil resides within you
