I love the adjustable arm for the beauty dish and the rollers on the C Stand…tell me where if u dont mind. I waste so much time adjusting that C-Stand with the Xplor600 on it isn’t easy.
@NP3D2 жыл бұрын
The stands are Flashpoint and the arm is called a Cambo boom arm. You can find them on BH I think. The arms are expensive but worth it! Those stands are tanks!!!!

Interesting to know what flashes your using and the above the head lighting technique is different to me but it looks awesome.
@NP3D3 жыл бұрын
It’s basically a 45 degree key light technique. Diffusion and close to create soft lighting. The other two lights served as fill and edge lighting. I have done this many different ways. Even a two light set up works.
@eshawnlane21833 жыл бұрын
@@NP3D next team shoot I'll try that technique 👌 thanks sir

@@NP3D oh my lighting is 2 Interfit S1 500 watts, 2 honey bagder unleash with 2 42" softbox or beauty dish. I was using the AD600 they broke and found a good deal for this whole Interfit set.

Hello! I like your main Stand. Where I can find one?
@NP3D2 ай бұрын
It’s a flashpoint heavy duty light stand with casters and the boom arm is from BH and it’s the Cambo RD-1201. They are pricey but so worth it! I have two of them and really only use one right now but I have two just in case. Thanks for watching!!!

I notice you are lighting from above in the front, how are you NOT getting shadows on their eyes and face? Was thinking to have a reflector to angle up a little on the floor to bottom light?
@pc5447 Жыл бұрын
He is using large umbrellas as fill from each side in a “clamshell” setup along with his main light I believe.
@NP3D Жыл бұрын
Yes the clamshell technique is great and also having a boom light the I can lower or raise really helps. You also get a bit of reflection from the glossy gym floor as well. Thanks for the question Todd! Enjoy and please come back. Jason

Jason these videos behind the scenes are great! I like being able to see the lighting positions. Are the 3 strobes all the same or can you get by with smaller ones for the fill lights . Thanks , again these pics are amazing

I appreciate it! I really need to do this more but sometimes my teams are in a hurry to practice after and in a lot of instances I’m by myself and the extra setup for video can be frustrating to them. I’ve never had them complain so I’m probably over thinking it. Thanks again for commenting and watching!

I have an aau basketball team coming up soon and I’m looking for suggestion on lighting. I currently just have an ad200 and speed light for portability since I’m a college student. I also have a $600 canon dslr but I plan to get 24-70 with it. Would it be great if I have a 3 light set up with my ad200 and the speedlight for fill light and an Ad400 for key light?
@NP3D Жыл бұрын
With and AD 400 as your main you can absolutely get away with speed lights as edge and Fill lights or hair lights if needed. I know when I first started that’s what I had to use and it was perfectly fine. Sounds like you are farther along than most.

Your pictures are incredible!!!! Curious if you change lenses when you shoot team vs individuals. Also can you share what lenses you use and what your settings are. I was surprised that you show the pictures afterwards, does this add more time to the shoot? So smart to get them to fall in love with the pictures on location. Do they order/pay before or after the shoot? Thanks so much for the info, I subscribed!
@NP3D3 жыл бұрын
No honestly I used to do that but just got to where the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. I use the 24 to 70 and just adjust accordingly. Typically I just turn vertical for indy's. Obviously I like to be fast but sometimes for the mood of the shoot I like to show really great pics because it gets the people I'm shooting all hyped up and its good for the rest. Sometimes showing takes longer but it does help as well at times. Shoots like these can get boring and I hate boring. As far as money goes, I don't like to discuss that on here. If you want to DM my instagram NP3D, I can give you better information.

What brand/model boom arm are you using?
@NP3D2 жыл бұрын
It’s called a Cambo Boom arm! Look on BH or Adorama. These are the bigger ones. You can get a smaller one but I’d stick with the larger. Thanks for watching and reach out anytime!

What kind of tape do you use to tape the ball for the shots gripping it?
@NP3D2 жыл бұрын
So I used painters tape because I didn’t wanna mess the ball up. There are probably better options but that’s what I had in the bag. 😂

How do you get the background so dark?
@NP3D2 жыл бұрын
When I take the first shot for ambient, I make sure the whole picture is black. Then I start adding light and accents and edge lights. It’s a process but worth it.
