Hi, great video! A lot of good tips, thanks! I was just wondering if you use a 14mm much in your wide angle environment portrait photography? Thanks 😊
@TNKPhoto Жыл бұрын
Hey James, thank you so much for watching! Honestly man, I would say that the sigma 14-24 mm is our go to for our staple wide shots. 90% of the day we shoot with the Tamron 35-150 but for these wides, the 14-24 is perfect. I would also recommend checking out the sigma 16-28 mm. I posted a comparison video recently and for the price, it's also an extremely great option 🙌

Great job! I would like to add to the conversation about the 4 point of interest. Subjects on the right will give you a more calming feeling and on the left it will give a sense of fleeing or anxiety. It does not matter what lens you use. But rules are meant to be broken!

Can you recommend best budget wide angle lens for canon ef
@TNKPhoto2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! I'm not as well versed with Canon so please double check before purchasing. This is for a crop sensor EF: www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1571174-REG/tokina_atx_i_af120cfc_atx_i_11_20mm_f_2_8_cf.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A514&gclid=CjwKCAjwrqqSBhBbEiwAlQeqGlpXY4YhZZeBe9ANo3EPJYOeDnPuENJ9XWhVCKG5psI3oCInUZcvAhoCiq4QAvD_BwE Or for Full Frame, the lens mentioned in this video is a great bang for the buck www.adorama.com/tn1628opc.html?gclid=CjwKCAjwrqqSBhBbEiwAlQeqGuQ__vc8fTqEUHLxcovxsDaUTQhKYOhA3lSkkyM0nugXOeQCO9o4XBoC1wUQAvD_BwE&gclid=CjwKCAjwrqqSBhBbEiwAlQeqGuQ__vc8fTqEUHLxcovxsDaUTQhKYOhA3lSkkyM0nugXOeQCO9o4XBoC1wUQAvD_BwE& You can spend a bit more and get a Sigma but truth be told, the Sigma and Tokina have treated me just the same (Tokina unfortunately doesn't make a Sony mount for this lens and I switched last year) www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1390808-REG/sigma_212954_14_24mm_f_2_8_dg_hsm.html/?ap=y&ap=y&smp=y&smp=y&lsft=BI%3A6879&gclid=CjwKCAjwrqqSBhBbEiwAlQeqGl9TpODoR-mMPbU9flet3VCTJKwBs8d9qL_mB7QoO_ol6r7ZENY-pxoCS6wQAvD_BwE

hello there, thanks for the tips and just wanna to ask u one thing that do you remove the light and assistant in the post or always place out of the frame. thanks in advane.
@TNKPhoto2 жыл бұрын
Hey Naresh, thank you so much for watching! I would say that 9 times out of 10 we keep the light out of the frame so we don’t have to do additional Post Production. In the rare situations where we have to leave the assistant in the frame, we place them knowing exactly how we’re going to Photoshop them out. I actually posted a new video about overpowering the sun that explains this a little bit more

Do you also use bracketing for your environmental or only strobes? And if you use bracketing will it be a need for speed light? Thanks
@TNKPhoto5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching Marcos. We don't do bracketing but its not a bad method at all. I personally would still use it because it does have a different look and I like shaping my subject with light from a light source but Im sure you can do a good job without as well

This is a very helpful Tip! But i need to know why my shots are not sharp using a 35mm lens at f2 standing back 8ft away... Hope you can educate me more about it... Thank you so much!
@TNKPhoto4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Ronaldo! at f2 most lenses will not be their sharpest. Try shooting at a higher F stop. Keep in mind if you're shooting from far away you're not getting any depth of field anyway so f2 and f8 are gonna look practically the same anyway. F2 at 2 feet away would make a difference but further away you're sacrificing sharpness for no benefit. I hope that helps

Try shooting in live view beyond 8 feet . Under 8 feet shooting through OVF does work even at 1.4 . The reverse applies for 85 mm 1.4 lens

I have been searching the web for this information. Thanks so much. Please what f.stop would you recommend for wide angle portraits ?
@TNKPhoto5 жыл бұрын
Babatunde Omoniyi Thank you so much for watching! I don’t have a general rule as far as what f-stop. The reason is the depth of field won’t really be affected since it’s a wide angle lens. Typically when we use it with strobes it’s at a higher f-stop to darken the scene, when it’s more natural light I stick within 2.8-5.6 so if there's dust in the sensor it won't show as much and there's less post production. If we're shooting afternoon portraits there are times 2.8 will be ok because I don't want the shutter speed to be too slow. I hope that helps :)
@babatundeomoniyi23775 жыл бұрын
TNK Photo thanks so much. The reason I’m asking is because I am considering investing in one a 16-35 or 12-24 Sony. Also because when I see some of the wide angle images the background is often like an image that was shot at f9 or f11. Everything are usually sharp. I have been advised by one of my mentors to shoot wide more hence why I was asking. Thanks for taking time to answer. Love from Sheffield, UK

@@Fifthimagez very nice. 35mm is a great walk around focal length too for vacation. I'd recommend checking out the Tokina 16-28mm 2.8 for a super wide angle if budget allows. That thing is a workhorse and great value (2.8 constant on full frame). A lot of our staple shots we have on our website and IG are with that lens

it is purely based on realization and self spritualization; Nature speak to you and yes you can talk with human. I am contemplating for wide angle lens (Irix 15mm or Tokina Opera) to relate human's presence in divine landscape.

hello. I have one question. Suppose you have a 14-24 lens, if you zoom to 25 mm, it will be ok to shoot or is it still giving the distortion? I have seen some videos about the sigma 14-24 mm but I could not figure that out yet. Thanks a lot
@TNKPhoto4 жыл бұрын
Thats a great question Rodrigo! Remember that distance has a lot to do with it. Although a bit of distortion will happen since technically it's still a wide angle focal length; if your subject is further away from the camera and closer to the center of the frame, it should be ok. Avoid having feet or heads near edges. As far as architecture type of shots, at 25mm it shouldn't be much of an issue and you can always do minor tweaks in post
@rodrigosilva-hu9hv4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the fast response 👍. So if you have a 24 mm prime lens it would perform way better in terms of distortion than a 14-24 mm zoomed into the 24mm?
@TNKPhoto4 жыл бұрын
@@rodrigosilva-hu9hv My pleasure. You know, thats a REALLY good question. I wish I had the exact answer. I think manufacturer to manufacturer makes a difference. I know some 14/16mm will stretch more than others. I will say, at 24 as long as you're shooting flat on (not on an angle) you can likely do most fixes in LR or PS after however. I know for architecture photography tilt shift wide angles are used quite a bit too, to be able to warp the way you want it to. I hope that helps a bit
@rodrigosilva-hu9hv4 жыл бұрын
@@TNKPhoto Yes I share the same opinion, I have been doing some photographic work in real estate, and I would like to find a lens that would put as much information in the photo frame as it would be possible, but with the least distortion, and that would also make video, but it is not easy to find, and most of the time I have to change lenses which annoys me a lot. I have seen some reviews about Laowa Zero D and now about Sigma 14-24, but not decide yet... so I have been in a dilemma. Thanks for the opinion and I hope you continue with the good work, it helps a lot, will keep folowing the channel
