@isabellind1292 Жыл бұрын
Have you heard? Listen to this!!! (If you haven't heard about what's happened to this precious fruit). About 6 months ago I started noticing the bananas I purchased were infected w/this strange and very unappealing blackness. I noticed because I cut my bananas in half and will put the unpeeled half in the fridge and within just hours, this black fungus which spreads from the stem of the inside of the banana up through the centre seeds and then outward and turning the entire banana into a blotchy bruised piece of fruit. It's just bizarre. It doesn't matter which brand I purchase ("Chiquita", "Dole", "Del Monte", etc.) organic or not, they're all infected w/the same thing. So, last month I phoned the government agency who oversees our Canadian food products to ask them if they could tell me what's going on and the man I spoke to, didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I'm sure he went home and told everyone over dinner about the kooky lady who called up over her imaginary, black-fungus banana crisis! Well, I knew it wasn't my imagination but what can you do, right? AND THEN I look at the banner headlines on the news the other day and what does it say??? BANANAS (GLOBALLY) HAVE BEEN INFECTED W/PANAMA DISEASE! And it gets worse. THERE IS NO CURE for PANAMA DISEASE! Bananas are going extinct and if I'm seeing what I'm seeing, it'll probably happen a lot sooner than later. It's really quite shocking. I feel vindicated because I knew something was going on but so much for Canada's government food agency who seemingly didn't have a clue as late as last month that this was happening. What the heck? It's difficult to believe the negative impact this will have globally. It is such a staple in so many people's diets and the thought that the extinction of this precious fruit is imminent is hard to imagine. 💓🍌💓

I have a question about Cucumbers and Hummus made from Chick Peas. These foods have Lectins which can cause Leaky Gut Syndrome. Why do you recommend these foods if they are not good for us?
@DrLivingood8 ай бұрын
Overall I would not be worried about eating lectin-containing foods unless you know you have sensitivities to those foods. Processed food, sugars, and bad oils are way more important to focus on. Many of the foods containing lectins have a lot of health benefits to outweigh the negatives for most people. Lectins can also easily be minimized by fermenting veggies, sprouting nuts, and cooking grains/beans. -LGD Team

Now I'm at 2:29 and he's telling us that a tomato with a five digit code beginning with a 9 is a genetically modified tomato, which he thinks we should never buy. OK, but suppose I ignore his advice and buy that tomato. I'm not even going to criticize his belief that genetically modified tomatoes are toxic. All I a going to note is that the damned tomato has to be mislabeled because two years ago, when he made this video, there WERE NO GENETICALLY MODIFIED TOMATOES! He was telling us how to a void a ghost. Wouldn't you expect someone warning us about GMO tomatoes to at least know if they exist? Now it's two years later and there is a kind of genetically modified tomato. It's not in stores yet, but it might be some time in the next few years. The variety name is Norfolk. You won't buy it by accident because it's a deep purple color, inside and out. And it's claimed to be nutritionally superior, but I won't be passing judgement on that.
