regenerative cows live such a beautiful life
@adim00lah5 ай бұрын
I agree, but what he said about regenerative meat being carbon negative is not true, no science has shown this. The main issue with cows is not even carbon, it's methane. And grass doesn't sequester methane from the atmosphere because plants don't breath methane, they breathe carbon dioxide. Also, he makes it seem as if eating meat is completely free of things that are bad for you. I realize there are anti-nutrients in plants, but it's not hard to find plants with low levels of things like oxalates, phytic acid, lectins, and cooking most of the time reduces or eliminates them. He doesn't realize meats are full of heavy metals like lead, cadmium, mercury etc... just a few months of not eating meat, these heavy metals will reduce by a 1/3 or more according to studies. Even organic meat is even full of things like dioxin, pcb's which are linked to cancer. You can read this in the study below: "Consumption of organic meat does not diminish the carcinovenic potiental associated with the intake of persistent organic pollutant (POP)." Not to mention these "anti-nutrients" have shown to have anti-cancer effects, unlike POP's. "Phytic acid suppresses inflammation moderators in colorectal cancer cells." "Several lectins have been found to possess anticancer properties in vitro, in vivo, and in human case studies; they are used as therapeutic agents, preferentially binding to cancer cell membranes or their receptors, causing cytotoxicity, apoptosis, and inhibition of tumor growth." He tries to spin it like everything in organic meat is good for you, because you are avoiding anti-nutrients. Even the blood in meat (heme iron) has been associated with increased risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes. Even meta-analysis has shown that milk consumption is associated with an increased risk of cancer. Milk in vitro actually promote the grow of cancer cells, studies have shown there, where as almond milk suppresses it. Scientists think it's all the estrogen and igf-1 hormones in milk that does this. I'm not vegan, nor am I against the consumption of animal protein, but to make it seem like because there aren't anti-nutrients in meat that it's all good, is false.

And grass doesn't sequester methane from the atmosphere because plants don't breath methane, they breathe carbon dioxide. If I'm wrong, please cite a study showing regenerative meat is carbon negative please. There is a lot of misinformation in his videos. While plants do contain anti-nutrients, they have proven to be medicinal, so it's not all bad. "Phytic acid suppresses inflammation moderators in colorectal cancer cells." "Several lectins have been found to possess anticancer properties in vitro, in vivo, and in human case studies; they are used as therapeutic agents, preferentially binding to cancer cell membranes or their receptors, causing cytotoxicity, apoptosis, and inhibition of tumor growth." The only one I would avoid are oxalates, and lots of veggies are low oxalate like cabbage, bok choi, collard greens, most types of lettuce, watercress etc.... Meat contains all sorts of things that promote cancer like neu5gc, igf-1, hca's, heme iron, and even lots of toxic metals like mercury, cadmium, and lead which bio-accumulate in the meat. Even if it's organic it doesn't reduce the presence of these persistent organic pollutants. Studies have shown, even a few months of avoiding animal proteins, these toxic metals and POP's reduce in your blood by 30% or more. Your gut microbiome can adjust to anti-nutrients studies have shown this, not so much with heavy metals and persistent organic pollutants which are far higher in meat than in any plants due to bioaccumulation. I'm not vegan, and I'm not against eating meat, but just because meat doesn't contain anti-nutrients doesn't mean everything in meat is healthy and doesn't promote disease.

When I go to the grocery store (HEB), what most people are substituting the cost of buying organic or grass fed with are processed carbs and sugars like churro flavored chips, candy and all type's of snack foods. Skipping the soda isle would compensate for buying grass fed beef. So many boxed foods need some type of crazy flavoring that is usually in an MSG form or maltodextrin. They end up spending more money, have more cravings and end up eating more as a result. Grocery stores have specials and coupons so consumers pay more attention to snack foods than they do on getting nutrition. Cost should not be an issue but it is a shame that it is that way for most consumers. So good to have alternatives and mindful companies that educate those of us that need to be thrifty with our grocery bill.

I completely agree that plant based meat is complete rubbish. Real meat will always be superior. However, I don't think that a person should completely eliminate vegetables and plant based carbohydrates like rice or pasta from their diet. I think complex carbs and vegetables are a good part of a healthy diet. Meat is a staple in my diet. I eat meat everyday. Vegetables may not be as essential, however, going long term without carbs and vegetables isn't a good idea in my experience. I tried carnivore exactly as Paul Saladino recommends, with fruit and honey as an attempt to replace carbs. However, fruit and honey are simple carbs and so I still craved complex carbs like rice, pasta, bread etc. Going long term without them only lead to more health issues. Carnivore can work short term, say in a survival situation or something. Long term though, I would not recommend it.

Fruits and honey are not simple carbs. They’re fructose, which the body digests slowly. Especially if it’s whole fruit. Rice and pasta are both simple carbs if it’s white rice and regular pasta. Brown rice and whole wheat pasta are the complex carbs. Do more research….
@wp9127 ай бұрын
@@shawng4886 Fructose, glucose, sucrose, those are all types of sugars and therefore fall into the category of simple carbs. Now of course there is a small amount of fiber, perhaps even starch in some fruits, like perhaps plantains, but typically, starches and other complex molecule carbohydrates are only found in vegetables (like potatoes, a very starchy vegetable) or grains (which are in turn used to make rice, bread, pasta etc.). Basically, if you are unaware, the difference between a simple and complex carbohydrate is in the molecular structure. Sugars typically have a simple molecular structure and therefore will break down quicker and be digested and absorbed faster. That's why its called a sugar rush, there is a fast but brief spike in energy after you ingest a lot of sugar. It doesn't last long though, because your body will absorb and use it quickly. Complex carbohydrates on the other hand have more complex long chain molecules which take longer for your body to break them down. Therefore there is no rapid onset of energy as with sugar but rather a slower digestion and utilization by the body which provides more energy over a longer period of time. That's the key difference and why ideally you want both in your diet. One for short term energy boosts and the other for longer term milder energy. Having only one or the other is not advisable.

@@wp912 I’m aware what both are and do. Whole fruits will never be “simple” carbs due to the fiber in them.

@@shawng4886 I don't understand your argument. Fiber is not a carbohydrate.

The only problem with that is, if everyone ate regenerative meat, would there be enough land to support this way of eating for everyone?

Great video. Where can we buy real grass fed regeneratively raised beef? I don’t trust labels anymore it’s all marketing bullshit.

There are some great companies online. What part of the world are you in? I know of a few good companies and websites but it depends on which country you are in. You could always do a search for organic grass fed meat online and then do some further research into the websites you find.

We have to remember there is people who have genetics for not eating too much meat. I think there's some top athletes and triathletes also? They've studied they had genes to perform better on vegan diet. Personally I feel super tired and weak when I eat any meat - and I tried all the best organic qualities - doesn't matter how I cook it. I feel the best when I eat plant based and little bit of some of type of fish lower in mercury (like sardines). I believe it can be about genetics. When I've been following blood type diet, I always felt the best. Anyway I really appreciate your knowledge about things :)

If your genetics are Homo Sapiens, then your genetics thrive on meat. What a particular athlete thinks they are doing for “performance enhancement” is irrelevant.

Thank you for sharing! I have never seen the regenerative beef in stores here in Canada or 100 percent grass fed...hard to even find grass fed here unless it's lamb and the odd time bison but hard to find since they are really just pushing halal meat here. Also they have made raw dairy illegal here 🤷♀️...
