When I first ordered from taobao I tested by ordering $1.00 tape. And I didn’t know that they are going to ask for shipping after order delivered to the cargo warehouse. And they asked for shipping to the USA CA $14.00. I was confused and didn’t pay for that and I just wasted $1.00 for nothing. And Im not gonna regret because that was just test.

It's mostly the same, but there's a lot more options now. I'll try to explain them (I'm Chinese so hopefully you'll trust me) There's still 空运 (air shipping) and 海运 (sea shipping). You might see 菜鸟 (usually first two characters, at least for me), which is the shipping company. There's also 直邮 and 集运. 直邮 is the shop/seller sending the package directly to you (I don't really recommend this option since not all the sellers are willing to do this for international, and it's a lot more expensive). 集运 is when all your packages are first sent to the warehouse, then to your address. Then there's 经济 vs 标准. 标准 is a bit faster than 经济. According to Taobao, it's 10-13 business days for 经济 and 8-10 business days for 标准. I'll give an example: 菜鸟直邮空运经济. 菜鸟 (characters 1&2) is the company, 直邮 (3&4) is from seller directly to you, 空运 (5&6) is air shipping, and 经济 (7&8) is the slower option. The order of the shipping options are usually (top left to right, bottom left to right): direct/air/slower, direct/air/faster, warehouse/air/slower, warehouse/air/faster, sea shipping (only one option for sea shipping). one thing I could tell, most Chinese are probably like the process of shopping to that extent, that taobao intentionally make it a long, game-like process, so you have to spend quite a bit of time on the website. for me personally, it could be made Much more simple and efficient, if the interface were minimalistic!
