How to Shorten a Zipper (neat and quick way)

Can this be done with invisible zippers? I tried sewing across the end of an invisible zipper and broke a needle. So I have not tried sewing across the plastic teeth again for fear of breaking another zipper. I appreciate any advice you have. Your videos are so easy to follow and understand. Great job!
