How To Shou Sugi Ban Pine

I have been experimenting with the Japanese wood burning technique called Shou Sugi Ban. Traditionally it is used on cedar. However, I have found that it gets amazing results in pine ( especially southern yellow pine SYP ). If you combine a good contrast of stain and add a decent finish it can produce a really nice look.

When you were wiping off the stain was that a wet or dry rag?

Dry, until it gets too much stain on it, and then a new dry one
