You are the best! I'm glad I'm a lot older than you so I can count on you being here for the rest of my life! 😀

Thanks again, i keep doing them with you and collect those exercises in one sheet together, it really helps me to understand the formula’s better. you are the best teacher here on youtube. Hope you do a lot more of explaining those formula’s here. i tried some off the other ‘teachers’ here, even some from the Netherlands but they are not that easy to follow as you. So thanks again and have a great week. 😊

This answered the question I didn't know how to ask - adding £ columns together, but didn't want an answer in the final column if the first column was £0. The division IF worked like a charm, thank you!

Here's a funny one. I closed out a bank account in December 2024. When I added the last withdrawal to my spreadsheet, the balance was showing up as "-0.00". So what's the negative sign doing there? I did LOTS of research and finally figured out what was going on. The column was set as a number with two decimals when I moved it to three, I could see a 9 in the third decimal place. So I paged back (a long way) and could see back in 2016, I fat fingered an entry for 78.72 as 78.721. So the rounding to two decimals was always correct and my spreadsheet always matched what the bank said, UNTIL it was time to subtract out the total. I'd been carrying around an extra digit since 2016! Thank you Gary, for all your good work.

How many times have I thought “There must be a better way than conditional formatting!”? A lot! Thank you so much!

Any one knows why although I applied this it doesnt change a thing with the numbers ? I am trying to delete the training useless zeros after the decimal
@reallifelegend47813 жыл бұрын
Hello. So I notice that if I create a currency rule If equal to 0 and delete everything out of the "then" field, and place only a 1 there, it displays 1 in the cell. However, as soon as I move the $ currency token in front of the 1 it automatically changes the 1 reflected in the cell to a 10, even though there is only $1 in the field. Any idea what could be causing that to happen?

Not sure which button or menu item you mean. But yes, some things won't work in collaborate mode for various reasons.

Hi! This doesn't seem to work for time formats (can't apply rules to those for some reason). What do you suggest?
@macmost2 жыл бұрын
What are you trying to do, exactly? Number values can be 0, but dates can't be 0. A date is a year, month, and day. Those can't have 0 values like numbers have.
@florencegielen56402 жыл бұрын
@@macmost I was trying to hide durations of 0. I found a workaround using conditional highlighting (setting text color to transparent when duration is equal to 0ms). Thanks for getting back to me. That is very kind :)
@macmost2 жыл бұрын
@@florencegielen5640 Ah, durations. That's a different type of value than dates, which is what I assumed when you said "time formats." That's a good work-around.

Great tip, Any ideas how to remove the zeros all together?? I find it frustrating when doing line graphs if there is a 0 in the data set the line graph also goes down to zero (obviously)
@macmost3 жыл бұрын
My only thought is to use conditional highlighting to make a cell red when it is 0, then you can remove it manually.
@anthonycorrone49673 жыл бұрын
@@macmost I did manage to do it with an IF function and then pasted the results. Worked pretty well!

With charts, if instead of 0 or blank you use “Null” for example, the chart will gap and continue. Eg: iferror(theCalc,”Null”)
