I feel so so blessed that some of you still stay around and watch over me and my videos . Social media can put a lot of pressure to somebody and I guess you only really know that feeling once you are in it. There is a constant pressure to put out content and to do better. After all I realized this is still my own personal journey that I love to share whenever I feel like it and not when people are expecting things. So I can not express my gratitude to those who check it out regularly without giving me any pressure or negativity and only wish me the best on my journey. I m so greatful from the bottom of my heart x I wish you all the best and hope you keep grinding and doing something you are proud of ..for yourself and only yourself x kisses sue

I have to admit that watching other vanlifers and their perfectly constructed vans with all the expensive commodities makes me feel like vanlife is unattainable for someone who doesn’t have an insane amount of money, but Susi you show us that anyone can do van life if they really really want it and you showing your hacks and self-construction is so inspiring! Your creativity and enthusiasm are amazing and you are my favorite vanlife youtuber!

I agree. So many VanLifers on youtube just seem to have had a spare 50 grand laying around for custom probuilt everything, on top of a brand new van to boot.

This is probably the best shower solution I've seen for a van lifer who doesn't have the space/budget for an actual shower. Not only great for colder months, but also if you're in a busier area and can't shower with an outside shower van hookup. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Susi, you're going to want to put a patio stone under and backing the wood stove. I think maybe you're underestimating just how hot these stoves get.

it may be a little more expensive than patio stone but I have thought that low density ceramic fiber insulation board used for kilns, forges, etc would be a perfect lightweight easy to use solution for keeping the heat of a stove away from the combustible parts of a van.

It’s also perfect that the roof vent is where it is. That way, any steam from showering can be immediately vented out 👍

Great idea for a shower. You can attach a hose to the pool drain and collect the dirty water into a bottle instead of pouring it on the ground. Also, a 3 liter garden sprayer from Home Depot is only $7 and pressurizes water. I think you could glue Velcro to the bottom of the shower curtain and pool/tub edge to keep it securely in place. Thanks for the inspiration!

POTENTIAL FIRE HAZARD! Please check the drawer you have sat the burner on it looks as though it is made of wood the bottom of log burners gets extremely hot and could cause a fire, I suggest putting fireboard on the top of the box then a stone slab on top of the fireboard to insulate from the heat also make sure you have several inches clearance around the burner. Sorry to shout this out but we really enjoy watching your vids and only want you to be safe.

Hi beautiful Susi!!! 🌻 I have a tip for you! Instead of using natural shampoo in a bottle you should use bar shampoo and bar conditioner (if you need conditioner). If you attach the shower curtain right under the ceiling fan, turn on the fan after shower, than you can dry out the curtain very fast. I don't recommend but... If you make a draining sink hall on the floor, it could become both shower drain, and kitchen drain, but you need to have a very tight stoper to prohibit water inflow from outside of van. When your 4x4 van cross a small river, water inflow from outside will be critical. So have a very tight stoper.(maybe screw style)

A children's inflatable wading pool and a circular shower curtain rod might've given you a stand up shower. The problem would be dumping the waste water, particularly in winter when just dumping outside could form ice.

You can also leave the water pump in the sun, because it's dark plastic, it will absorb the heat from the sun to warm the water. The other thing you can get is a solar shower, it's a black plastic bag with a shower head, you leave it in the sun to heat up and 'bingo' nice warm shower, very cheap, very effective. You can lay them on the dashboard of the van to warm up in winter.
