Before I shrink blow, I take a sharp straight pin on a soft surface and make a hole on each opposite end. So I don't get the 'puff'. But, snipping an end of the soap so it can be smelled is a good idea! My customers are always killing themselves trying to smell through the bag! Also yes, an embossing gun works fabulous. I got mine on Ebay for about $11.00. They get very hot. Also, just like you were doing; constantly moving the gun and the soap prevents holes from being melted into the bag . Pressing while blowing prevents those extremely sharp corners and flattens the wrap.Great video and beautiful soap!

Excellent tutorial. I was trying to figure out how to do this for a larger round item consistently. The idea of using the sealer to cut it and pushing the corners in was the missing trick. Thanks!

would poking a pin hole on top with a pin work to let the air out and then put you label over the pin hole that way still sealed .

My two cent idea: by pricking the center of the plastic with a pin will provide an escape route for the air inside the bag.

Where does everyone get the best shrink wrapping bags from? I got some from Amazon and it’s nearly impossible to get the soaps in them to begin with. I have to use a cut piece of cardboard to slide the bars in the bag, otherwise they’re too sticky to get the bars in them. Such a pain in the butt! Great video by the way. Thanks for sharing your process!

Ok so as soon my both “machines “ came -today, i was ready to start shrink wrap my soaps together with you 🙂 but where it stopped was when i tried to seal the bag - the sealing machine would not seal it just kinda leave it open when I’d open the top. I did tried leave it closed for less time as well as longer, sometimes it would seal part of it but still left holes. Any tips ? I would appreciate any kind of help/advice ❤️

And iv heard all melt n pours go squishy. Im not up making 100s bars Is there a way of shink wrapping with out equipment shown in video
@mothyrgrimm19236 жыл бұрын
allison groves if you're just making small batches you don't intend to sell you can wrap them tightly with seran wrap and use a bit of clear tape to secure the back! With melt and pour you want to wrap in the same or next day as it's a humectant and draws in moisture and will create a "dew" on your soaps. Also your soap can become squishy if you have too many additives like oils and such. You can add a small amount to your m&p but it's already a finished soap so you can't add to much to it. Hope this helps!
