I can't understand how the hindu shuffle works to shuffle the cards...i'm trying it but it seems like its just keeping the deck in the same order just shifting from hand to hand in a fancy way. Cant anyone help to explain please? Thanks

I think that is the point. This video makes it seem like these are alternatives to each other. But in reality you will usually see a combination of these three shuffles being used. The riffle shuffle is the best of the 3 if you use them separately, but has one flaw. The top card can stay on top or near no matter how many times you do it. You Ideally want to use one of the others to move the cards at the top to a random position in the middle of the deck, then do a riffle shuffle. I've seen a modified version of the hindu shuffle where you keep a loose grip on the cards. Then you try to move the card from your dominant hand into the middle, instead of the the top, of the card landing on your non dominant hand. Since you are keeping a loose grip on the cards, the cards go in between each other, like a crappier version of the riffle shuffle.

The first two methods aren't even real shuffles because they only shuffle GROUPS of cards. Only a riffle or faro will actually shuffle the cards completely, so this was a BAD video, in my opinion. Even using the riffle, it takes a minimum of 7 shuffles to randomize the deck. It would take MINUTES of endless shuffling to randomize a deck using those first two jokes of a method.

Tip for the riffle shuffle: bend the tip of your thumb down ALOT until your nail is 90 degrees to the left/right of the cards, it worked great for me!
