There's 2 things ive noticed that are essential during the riffle shuffle to get a good bridge: 1. When riffling, the more consistent your riffle is, ie the closer the cards alternate 1 by 1 with each half of the pack, the longer the riffle will last. If you have clumps of cards in your riffle then the bridge won't work too well. Getting the cards to fall 1 by 1 is not an easy feat, especially by a beginner such as my self. 2. When riffling, make sure your cards are meeting each other as close to the top as possible. If your cards are overlapping too far then the bridge won't work well. I have been practicing for a day or two now and these are 2 important things I have noticed that weren't mentioned in this video. Love your content btw Bao, keep it up!!!
@stonearchitect1162 жыл бұрын
How did you get the cards to fall 1 by 1? I always have cards that stick together and fall in packs of 3 to 4 cards. Been practicing for 2 hours now.

I also recently tried learning the Faro shuffle (which should make the cards perfectly interleave if done right... though I'm far from it). The post-Faro shuffle bridge is much more satisfying than my terrible riffle-shuffle bridge for this exact reason. Too many clumps of cards. when I riffle 😭

I use to do card tricks awhile back but stopped since I got discouraged. Now I want to become a master of cards like you are. Would love to see some new videos on card tricks that require no setup. Also, something I'm learning as I go along - if you have larger hands, placing your pinky on the bottom corner of the card instead of wrapping it around the bottom (kind of like how you position it with the Dealer's Grip) makes it easier to get your thumb on there sideways. 🙂

As someone who now has a lot of free time, I recently started "Cardisty" and i just started just yesterday and got the hang of the riffle shuffle thanks to this tutorial, but i can't for the life of me figure out how to do the bridge or cascade finish. Not sure if this is a common problem for people. I think the main problem is that i struggle maintaining a good 3 fingered grip after the riffle shuffle and everything just falls apart. Although shuffling cards is frustrating and tricky it can also be really fun especially when it finally clicks. Great video you Bao!
