What's the torque required when putting back the axle nut?
@davidmacgregor51933 жыл бұрын
The rear axle nut torque values are :- 95 to 105 ft/lbs or 129 to 142 Nm.

Is it easy to remove bottom bolt on the shock absorber? And then put it back in..
@ridingdigital4 жыл бұрын
It's possible, I just needed some help to compress the back while I did it
@MJLangdon1754 жыл бұрын
The only thing I’d be worried about with this kit, is it only connects to the rear axel instead of axel and shock bolt. The plate can act like a big torque lever and undo the nut on the wheel if your not careful.
@rossfarr16 жыл бұрын
When you take the wheel nut off, is there any risk the wheel becoming misaligned ?
@ridingdigital6 жыл бұрын
It's possible yes. If you mark the position of the adjuster either side with a pencil (it might help to put a bit of masking tape across both parts, draw a line then cut along the gap) then you will see any movement. Mine was fine and I didn't have any. Good luck!

Have a question, i have an '02 Sporster 883 and have a side mount plate installed problem is wiring up the lights. I got which wires to use but how did you tuck and conceal them and where did you route them? Any help be much appreciated. Keep it shiny side up bro.
@ridingdigital5 жыл бұрын
hey, I tucked them up under the rail guards, if you unscrew the frame rails running either side of the mud guards you can zipper clip the wires to the frame and pop the rails back on. good luck!

Hey mate, sure no problem - I spent ages looking for a solid UK legal side plate that didn't stick a mile out and this was the best I could find. I got it off eBay, this looks like it but check colour etc. Good luck 👍 rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F271569524274

PS I had to get a new plate made to fit it from a custom plate shop online but the letters are the legal height

Riding Digital great, thanks for the info... looks so much better than having it stuck on the back over the wheel! Shame we can’t have the tiny plates in any colour like over in the states haha

Hi, question. Due to your side plate is so low mounted, did you ever had any issues with cornering and the plate hitting the pavement?

I've not had any issues at all with the side plate hitting the ground, the pegs hit first!

Hi which type of air intake is that?... did you have to remap after install?
@ridingdigital7 жыл бұрын
dazlarg it's a performance machine contrast cut air filter. fitted it at the same time as the exhausts and used a V&H FP3 tuner. you'll need to remap and tune, runs badly without. RD

Nice bike, could you pleaze give some feedback as to how it holds up after your rides? Have seen some reviews of the thunderbike one and most of them say the mount has warped and such. I dont think this is the case here as it looks quite a sturdy piece.p.
@ridingdigital7 жыл бұрын
+padelis giagk Thanks - it's held up absolutely fine, it's solid as a rock. When I fitted it first time I had only hand tightened the mounting bolts before riding off (whoops), it flew off at 40mph - not even a scratch. It's not cheap but it won't break! RD

Unfortunately the legal size for a motorcycle plate in the UK is 9" wide x 7" high, the German plates are even larger than the UK ones, they look like a barn door.
@weemac14277 жыл бұрын
is side mount leagle in the UK ? I'm thinking about changing mine
@ridingdigital7 жыл бұрын
+Wee Mac yes I believe it is (wording states must be at the rear of the vehicle or as close as possible, which it is), but you need to have a light and red reflector. I have a legal plate (sizing and colour) and no problems at all. But do your research to make sure you're happy with it, seems a bit of a grey area but more think it's OK than not.... hope that helps!
@davidmacgregor51933 жыл бұрын
@@ridingdigital Side mounted plates are NOT legal in the UK, the plate must be on the rear of the motorcycle. That's why UK registered Sportsters come out of the H-D dealership with that ugly plastic "pig's nose" plate mounting bracket. Left hand mounted plates are meant for countries that drive on the right hand side of the road, when they are eventually legalised for use in the UK, the plate will have to be mounted on the right hand side of the motorcycle to be legal. That is because when a police car is overtaking the motorcycle to stop the rider the registration number will be clearly visible to the police, if the plate is on the left the motorcycle will obscure the registration number.
