IF you get an error when typing ADB in cmd it may be because you are in the wrong directory, in cmd type: "CD C:\users\USERNAME" (change USERNAME for whatever your windows username is. It took me a while to realise why it wasn't working. Thanks for the video!

A tip on Mac. You can just type in “adb install “ and then drag the file into the terminal window. It will automatically put the correct directory listing to the file. Quick and easy way to not have to navigate around using “cd Downloads” or wherever you decide to save your apk’s

I am so hooked on VR and just got my feet wet today in sculpting in VR! I friggin love It !! I am an artist and just cannot tell you how long I have waited for this to manifest into reality! Cool! I don't have a lot of time at the moment to spend on VR, but somewhere in the near future I'd like to get into making my own apps. I'm already a member of the Oculus developers network I just haven't had time to get into it yet. Maybe you could do a video sometime in the future that could discuss something like Unity VR and some concepts of programming for VR? I don't think it has to be a super in-depth tutorial, but an overview might be helpful for a lot of people. Have you done something like this in the past? Just a thought. The two things that sold me on the Oculus Go was 1) price 2) standalone device 3) ability to sideload my own projects from Unity and other sources. Any device that has had a thriving community for homebrew, mods, etc. have always been my favorite devices. I've already used my Oculus Go at work to make some really important decisions about a new building we are working on. Asked the architects for the building model and blueprints and with a combination of Unity and Google Sketchup we're able to tweak things and tour the changes in VR in a matter of minutes. Unity is pretty easy to work with and there are some decent sources for Oculus Go, but it's definitely a space that could use more/better info here on KZbin.

Seems alot of us are having this issue. CMD finds and shows my go as connected, shows success, then nada. I look in unknown and nothing I sideload is there, when I open Oculus TV I get a few things on the screen but no "library" with all the apps. All I see are Netflix, Facebook Watch, Redbull TV, and something called Neverthink. ANY help at this point would be appreciated immensely.

Amazing video. I was definitely interested in sideloading apps, movies, and games onto the Go that I just picked up. I was surprised that there wasn't a folder when I connected to my desktop. I followed your instructions to the end of step 2 yesterday morning. My device is there and authorized in Windows command, but the folder didn't pop up after to attempt part 3 of the video so I was wondering how to uninstall my device using commands to keep trying to get the folder to add the apps in Step 3.

Great Video!!! I'm on a mac and followed the instructions exactly...everything seemed to work well. I ran abd help and that worked. I plugged in my OG (set to develper mode) went back to terminal and ran abd help again...I got "-bash: abd: command not found" . I've tried reloading everything . but still no joy...I am getting ready to leave for a trip in a day and would REALLY like to get this working! Thougths? Thanks again!

if your having issues here is your best solution- go through all the steps in the vid except instead of downloading steam or whatever your gonna do, download ES File Explorer and install that via CMD prompt. The reason i say to do this first is because otherwise your never gonna find the damn apps. After installing, go to Occulus TV and on the very bottom when you scroll down- unknown sources will pop up- it will show a blank black square- click on it and enable es file explorer- this will make it so that any apps you download afterwords you will be able to actually find them. If unknown source still doesn't show up in Occulus TV, toggle off developer mode on your mobile and restart your oculus. Then go back to occulus TV and it should be there

I recently side loaded a number of apps but mot didn't work, the only ones that did are Dissidia Final Fantasy, Opera Omnia, ePSXe, Google Play Games, Retroarch, Nivdia Games & the Steam client via Geforce Now, had a lot of pop ups telling me that the apps stopped working but I clicked on wait and the apps worked even though they were slow.

Got as far as Step 3. Really great, clear instructions. Do you know of any software sources, other than Valve Steam? I've used Steam in the past, with paid for software and found they installed tons of adware onto my desktop, not to mention interrupting games with yet more.

Thanks! This worked exactly as described on a Mac (running Mojave). Watched this video several times, then followed the instructions on the Headjack link. I was thinking originally that I had to find the Minecraft .apk file somewhere on my Gear VR (I purchased that version when the original Gear VR came out), but couldn't find it, so downloaded the .apk file from android-apk.org, renamed it "minecraftvr.org," installed it, and that worked. Now it runs just like on the Gear VR. NOTE: on Oculus' website, under Minecraft for Gear VR (www.oculus.com/experiences/gear-vr/), it now says Minecraft "Supports Go." So does that mean official release is imminent? I can't imagine everyone doing this process. It does require a lot of patience and step-by-step focus.

Hi, and thank you for this. I can get as far as downloading the steamlink apk but in your video, it's just one file, but when I download it it's a series of files that have to be opened with WinRAR. Hiya did your stream sideload thanks works a treat with my bluetooth joypad.Hoping the future will be a mix of a unit that is portable and also WiFi to the computer.As I have both the rift and Go and to have it all in one unit be great.Tried some other APK didn't work.Do the APKs have to be a certain type to work.

@@FirestoneX Sideload ES File Explorer. When you run ES File Explorer within Oculus TV you will see an App option. The File Manager will display all installed Apps and will let you uninstall the ones that you don't want. ES File Explorer is also great as an App Launcher. If you're not familiar with ES File Explorer I suggest that you install it to your phone first and have a play to familiarise yourself with it.
