How to Sign - ANNOY - BOTHER - Sign Language - ASL

To ANNOY or BOTHER someone uses the same sign. It requires a double movement and you may see it signed more than twice to show emphasis. I use it to stress that a certain behavior or action is really annoying.
There is a separate sign for feeling ANNOYED. You are annoyed by something or someone.

You make great accompanying facial expressions when performing your ASL signs. I find it difficult to do both the ASL signs and facial expressions together. Multitasking at age 60 is a tough endeavor.

Thank you. Don't be too hard on yourself. Learning ASL takes time and facial expressions are an important part of that. Keep in mind that I had training. I took classes that focused on the use of mouth morphemes and facial expressions. I do feel that some of the expressions will come naturally as well (annoy is a good example of that). Keep practicing and enjoy the process. 👍🏼
