a great question from me is how would a lowely 3.0 or 3.5 USTA rated player do one if wanted. We do have an IFT World tennis number, im working on trying to do an ITF in 2026 and just play the qualifiers (im 34 right now, not exactly expecting to make a big splash, if i could win 1 set id be happy). Is there something you have to do or wait for, or sign up and wait for space to get in? PS: yes i recognize i am going to be blown away

Definitely continue to work on your WTN. Not sure they will ever use it, but not a bad idea in general to try and make that better. These events have high level players from 5.0 and up, so getting in as a 3.0 or 3.5 might be difficult. One way to get into a qualifying round is if you sign up for an event and you are the on-site alternate. If someone gets hurt or couldn't make it to the event, you would be thrown in to play in a qualifying match. Even this might be tough, because there could be other players vying for the on-site role that might have a higher ranking than you . Try boosting your country ranking as well. Hope that helps.

@@MPTennis Thanks alot! Theres one nearby in ithica (only hours away) so being an onsite alternate would be a bit difficult. but thank you for responding and letting me know!. Ill definitely work on my WTN Number and rating. What is a good WTN number that is good to be able to get into a tournament like this?

@@MPTennis what's the lowest priority for getting selected in an itf tournament, I mean anything below national rankings criteria?
@NDCrew-pe3yf Жыл бұрын
How can you obtain a national ranking if you eventually want to play ITF and never played in college ?
@MPTennis Жыл бұрын
I obtain a national ranking because I play in tennis Canada events and get points from that.

@@MPTennis ok I been researching myself because I want to eventually want to do the same . But basically I need to just play USTA events ?
@MPTennis Жыл бұрын
@@NDCrew-pe3yf ya I’m not American but I would suggest that. You would get points from that.
