Hey everyone, I hope you enjoy this quick video on how I do DIY silk presses! I included some tips on how I maintain the health of my hair (or try to lol). Feedback is welcome. Thanks for watching!
INGREDIENTS:
6 scoops of any mayo
1 egg
honey
olive oil, the amount is your preference just don't use a lot, I'd do 2 spoonfuls at the most

FAQs since I'm getting some similar questions:
Did you use a heat protectant? I did not in this video but I have recently been using the Its a 10 heat protectant spray. Any heat protectant should work though.
What heat setting was the flat iron on? 450 degrees (highest setting)
Amount of each ingredient? 6 spoonfuls of mayo, one egg, and the rest is preference just don't make it too runny or it'll be a mess

That means you need to blow dry more. When you blow dry it it should look as close to straight as possible before you add a straightener ❤️

Let me come back up here and just say I cannot thank you enough my hair was dry and brittle. I used 2 eggs like you did and freehanded the olive oil and honey and my hair is impeccable. This came out really nice. That mayo and egg treatment is a protein treatment. It honestly works and so good for your hair. Seems like the key to a good silk press is the blow drying part. The straighter the hair at the point the better the flat iron process is and the less heat passes you need to get the hair straight.

I found out just yesterday that straightening my hair with a blow dryer at its maximum heat was the best and the fastest way to straighten my hair, and so far the healthiest because it doesn't damage it or make it fall AT ALL I don't know if it works the same on everyone, but otherthan the noise it makes, it's literally the best solution to me Hope I'd help someone out there with my experience

How do you keep your roots from reverting back to curly, whenever I have a silk press within a few hours my roots become curly again which is a waste of getting it done in the first place. I need tips on how to keep it straight for more than a week?
