After trying this a couple times and struggling because my hair is so thick, I experimented with a slight alteration. Instead of one ponytail in the middle, I began with two ponytails (one stacked on top of the other one) and then continued the same way. It helped my hair feel way more secure! It’s like a double-decker bun!

That sounds quite good. Did you partially put the hair of EACH of the two ponytails in half a loop before you continued with the steps in the video?

@@MmeMaxime Yes I followed all the same exact steps, except I made an upper loop ponytail and a lower loop ponytail then I continued wrapping the hair as she does. The finished look is slightly different, obviously, but still looks really cool and feels much more secure when you have really thick hair!

I used this tutorial for when I was a bridesmaid and it was perfect! This updo was so easy and quick to do - it took me not even 5 minutes and it looks like I spent forever doing it. This hair style is not SO easy nor effortless ...it does take effort! However when you get the hang of it and tweak it here and there for your own hair it’s actually not too difficult for how it looks in the end. I wore this style for an event and got so many compliments!

For the first time ever i actually achieved a bun hairstyle...i have long (hip length) thick 2b+2c waves that are very unruly...i never did a bun without it turning out as a hot mess and then loosing extreme amounts of hair later when I untie it,and i always had a frizz ball in the after math,never any bun hairstyle felt this secure... thank you soooooooooooooo much 🥺❤️it's really awesome...edit: also you don't have to apply any amount of styling products or heat to achieve this guys,it sure will be my fav bun style ever,other hairstyle I've seen always require atleast some amount of styling but this doesn't...

First off, not easy unfortunatly. I couldnt follow along easily. She said "Cut into section from end of part to nape of neck " didnt clarify how much. Hey i had the same problem. they always slip away. but instead i got the other bobby pins that aren't fully closed, i believe they are called hair pins..look it online...they are widely open

Try spraying them with hairspray first and put them in bumpy side down (the correct way) and cris cross them.

Use hair clips instead, I find they stay better. Also, you’d be surprised what investing in higher quality bobby pins can do. It also really helps to have a lot of texture in your hair.

This hairstyle is much easier than most since there aren’t any small hair elastics, and not too many bobby pins. And since everything is twisted and pinned it should undo beautifully, curls intact! 💕
