THANKS MARTIN! 1 trap I fell into was using the flat part of my index finger nothing would ring properly I realised the creases at the back of my knuckles lined up with more than 1 string! and over time realised if I used the edge of my finger, bar chords were easy!

@@TheWashboardResonators Things dawn on you over time, and no matter how hard you try, if you don't know you don't know! my dad played, and he used the flat of his fingers, but he had fat fleshy short fingers I have piano fingers long yet very thin! and I started playing at about 18 late! but any players out there try comparing your hands line up the 1st crease where your finger starts and put your hands together, your fretting fingers will be longer, index and pinky bout a 16th" my middle 2 1/4" easy!

While I always appreciate your lessons, Martin, I can’t help thinking “beginner?” 😂. You make it look so easy and sound so fantastic. But when I try my fingers turn into knots. One day I hope I can play along. For now I’ll have to stick to open chords with 1/4 note strumming. 😊

It’s just a concept for re fingering bar chords as many struggle to get a clean sound when baring. Like anything this might be half an hour a day for a week before the fingerings become automatic. I wouldn’t expect anybody to just watch this video and 10 mins later be able to do all this! Stuck with it and good luck. 🎯🎼🎯

I don’t understand the question I’m afraid. You can do bar chords on any standard tuned guitar.

Also it's very easy to get to the D7 chord on the middle 4 strings if you're playing the G by hooking your thumb over, and these shapes move up and down the fretboard making playing in most keys a doddle (ish).
