Күн бұрын

READ THE DESCRIPTION BELOW!!! Using Hybrid Vocal Technique, Eli Prinsen demonstrates high, powerful singing in the true voice instead of falsetto or head voice.
The clip where I sing "Queen of the ryche" is done in FULL chest register (the speaking voice - NOT IN FALSETTO OR HEAD VOICE...The super high examples are in a fusion of the high speech register and the head voice register.

3 years later and I still can't hit your falsetto notes. My voice is just going deeper every year! well, I haven't sung much in the last year. Just checking out some vids to see if I can find any motivation to do anything. :)

I never knew this is a real thing, This is how I've always sang, I've never had a break in my chest voice And it goes higher than my falsetto... I have never understood why my chest voice was stronger and could go higher but I think I'm doing what you're talking about naturally and have always sang this way...

Finally. Someone just like me! I can full voice to D5 and yet my falsetto cannot. My speaking voice is as deep as your own. Yes, gentlemen....you too can wail like King Diamond singing Eqypt! Just head voice with a little compression and a lot of air. Go crazy!

King Diamond is a reinforced falsetto. Falsetto is breathy...if you can tighten it up and add some compression...you get the king diamond sound

Don’t believe in classifying your voice as a tenor, bass, or a baritone(it’s honestly bs). Your mindset should be if you can hit the notes you want? If you can, good for you. If you can’t than work towards it. Don’t let your natural range deter you from be voice you want. Think of your range like a muscle, if you can’t get it to do one thing than work on it until you can it to do what you want. If you sing out of your normal range then you’re range will stretch and you’ll become a better singer so sing what you’re not comfortable singing

I want to sing A4 Bb4 B4 C5 Db5 and D5 with out tension Mississippi queen. 30 days in the hole, land of confusion , fire and water, I think guys like tate and steve perry were singing falsetto and pushing it to chest That is why they disappeared ray gillen on the other hand knew how to get up on a C5 in full voice Then built a falsetto voice that was mostly clean on top of that

I love these examples. Youre an amazing vocalist btw. I am interested in adapting these techniques in R&B, pop, blues and Gospel . I have yet to see an instructor do that. The challenge I find is staying connected while moving through passagio quickly. Or the low part of head right before switching back to chest voice. The rock singing seems easy but not my passion. I love hearing others use it. The mix or power voice you use on the top is exactly what I use and singers always look at me like I'm crazy. Lol

so this technique DOES have a name ! I use a bit of this technique when I go higher on the "e" vowel... I don't go as high as u though, I just use it as a bridge into headvoice :) I still sound a bit weird though, cus I just recently learned 2 do it, but I don't sound weak anymore, now it's all connecting... though it will take some time before it's perfect :)

I'm working on level 4 now . 4 of 8 4 gets into mixing The first part of the course focused on smoothing out the break The vocal fold at Ab A What i find is By doing all the drills and scales you learn to buzz and hum, get the voice more forward , up by the teeth and in the cheek bones What was happening before is by learning to resonate "in the chest" because your God given Baritone lower /mid range chords, you are governing the air and keeping it in the chest and also the larynx so the larynx is actually tense! By humming and singing brighter There is so much less restriction you are free to train the vocal chords to go to pitchs in the 5th octave , by using vowels There is definitely a lot of commitment to smoothing the break It is weird because i was getting A# but not A The reason being , going back down near the baritone range , i kept falling in the habit of resonating in the chest, therefore there was too much air in the throat causing tension Actually practicing low baritone and bass scales, Eli show in his drills , with brightness and buzzing helps a lot It is all about fusing the entire range

This was pretty awesome. Anyhow ive got a question. You see , i love all kinds of metal from heavy to thrash to deathcore/metalcore. Now , if you ever heard deathcore/metalcore you would now what im talking about. I would like to do the clean you do , but also i would want to growl and scream as they do in deathcore and metalcore. Can i do both is the real question? Because i heard singing deathcore / metalcore style can damage your voice pretty bad.

Im a low baritone (like Barry white) and my highs can comb your hair from 5 feet distance. But this style has a big problem, it kills your throat, look Timo Kotipelto, he lost his highest notes, Philip Anselmo (Shattered) bet he can't sing it anymore, but while it lasts, people looks at you like... What the fuck have you eaten today, dude? Specially in metal bars. Hahaha
