2:06 "I've already started to modify that vowel" - YES!! I'm constantly reminding singers to go natural, or even early with these transitions. It's about C# for me too, maybe B earlier in the day - I get guys coming in trying to drag up to E4, even F or G before they even think about it (in an attempt to be 'chesty'), and it just spreads into something else entirely other than an EE vowel. It's like a smack in the face when someone sings EH instead of EE, rather than modifying the space the right way like you're doing here and actually singing your EE sounds beautifully. Wait you said talking higher can help preserve your voice. I’m a baritone with a G2-D5 Vocal rangez If I’m relaxed I talk like G-b2 should I be higher ?

I don't put a specific note or range to my speech, I just think more resonance and a higher placement. I float the pitch around in an effort to keep myself from speaking monotone with a pitch that steadily descends into my throat and chest. Floating the buzz and pitch in a somewhat melodic way helps to keep me away from my former bad speaking habits.
