Very helpful. Forward phrasing is more playful and exciting

I like best forward phrasing! But even your "straight"-sung version sounds very good! I like your voice.

A tip: you can watch movies at Kaldrostream. I've been using them for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.

I like the back phrasing one best. Watching in TX by the way. So it would be helpful if you were able to give more specific examples of what makes back phrasing and forward phrasing work. Maybe I missed it but I was confused as to how to recreate the forward and back phrasing on my own by the time I got to the end of the video

For me the forward phrasing is the best. First it sounds like a singer in Swing era usually did. Second, it is storytelling better, maybe that the style you the most confident because you said Musical a lot too.

After the intro I almost stopped watching tbh... but that tone you’ve got that sounded tinny to my ears at first quickly took a back seat & didn’t matter when you started in with your examples. Nice! Imo (which doesn’t mean beans) anyone who thinks the “straight” version sounds good might want to consider sticking to a musical theatre or show style of singing.

are you talking about accents? or dialects? or boarding school bullshit?
