Her passion moved me to tears, honestly. It's so evident she loves jazz and singing jazz. I wish we could be more like her - passionate about what we do, instead of cribbing about our daily grind.

THIS is exactly what I needed, I've always wanted to sing jazz because I ADORE it, and this is explained like a math process - easy to understand. This lady right here has some awesome tips, I finally get it. Thank you

I'd love to add that singing Jazz is also about Phrasing! This, along with rhythm is what makes you an instrument, along with the others in the band, and it is what can help make the feel of the lyrics unique to the audience. Great video!

this is the best singing pep talk i have seen in all my years. i am not a jazz singer but I think I finally understand what singing is about. I have never heard anyone describe singing as a demonstration of wit and that was so refreshing to hear. i have spent so much time trying to "fix" my singing instead of realizing what my priorities were. thank you

*Mozart once wrote to a friend: “People err who think my art comes easily to me. I assure you, dear friend, nobody has devoted so much time and thought to composition as I. There is not a famous master whose music I have not industriously studied through many times.”* Just replace classical music* with jazz and you'll be a beast just like the very regretted Mozart did with his respective music style. *Applicable with any and every other skill, musical or not.

What I notice most is her hitting the first vowel of each syllable almost immediately with minimal time spent on the consonant preceding it.

I dance Lindy Hop a bit and the "plain" version of Cheek to Cheek really sounded wrong to me, even though it was sung beautifully. During the second one, though, I felt just like at a swing night at a local jazz club, something I've been missing during the lockdown...
