How to Sing Like Bill Withers

For me the most important part is, when he sings:" Hey, I ought to leave young thing alone But ain't no sunshine when she's gone." He Breaks into this high but powerful voice, I always wondererd how he did that without getting into a head voice. Would have loved to hear something about that.

For me, anyone with some basic ability to sing could have done Bill Withers job. He’s another middle of the road act who was in the right place at the right time like many musicians of that era. For phrasing, technique, beautiful tone and control, you could look at Jackie Wilson to name but a few. However, that’s very difficult because he was actually good!
