Hey Jim, so just to understand the killer last chorus: does he switch btw head voice and chest voice on the original recording? thanks for the vid, awesome job!
@RockYourBestVocals Жыл бұрын
That's a GREAT question, but only something he can answer because it can be hard to distinguish although it sounds like a hybrid to me... if he's using 'one register singing' then it is almost impossible to tell
@mrrabbit226 Жыл бұрын
@RockYourBestVocals hey thanks a lot! He doesn't sound like that or go that high in other tunes I think, so it makes me wonder. Anyway I think the fact that it's impossible to find a live version where he kills it speaks by itself. The isolated voice track from studio is a bliss to listen to though!

Im glad ur showing a healthy way that actually sounds similar and good unlike what Jon actually did with the pretty unhealthy distortion he did
@RockYourBestVocals3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that acknowledgement! In my professional career, I started out NOT knowing how to get the 'similar' (safe) sounds, and ended up destroying my voice on many occasions... One day I said, "I gotta figure out a way to save my voice and not sacrifice sounding like the actual song". I came up with some specific tools to do that, and love sharing them so others can avoid damage. Thank you (again) for taking the time - REALLY appreciate you!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

@RockYourBestVocals2 жыл бұрын
Nerves will make you sing worse, so you must 'program' your mind to know that you will perform perfectly... HOW you ask? (I cover this in my programs and 1:1 coaching) But the short version is - use visualization and self-hypnosis to visualize yourself performing perfectly at the audition... I've used this ALL throughout my >30year career, so I speak from experience to say this WORKS! Best of luck for your audition!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

@RockYourBestVocals3 жыл бұрын
Hey Dan, great suggestions! I like how you stated 'over use' of effects - haha! I'm not big on effects but I'll put this on my list because maybe it will help people to be mindful that effects often don't make you sound better (just putting reverb on BAD vocals is just BAD VOCALS with reverb on them - haha! 🤣 Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼

I had trouble getting on your website, though. I don't know how to do it, unfortunately. Also, will it be possible for me to sing like Bon Jovi? I'm just asking because I am female. @@RockYourBestVocals Sadly, the joke went over my head. I was serving in the Air Force at the time at McGuire. It could have been me, but between the weather, the people, the food, and there being nothing to do where I was, it was a drag. I'd take a bus to Philly on the weekends, that was more my speed. NYC was a great time. I'm sure it's just me. xD
