Hey Jim, good to see another video from you! Regarding getting plays (this is actually about KZbin views, but a similar concept), do you remember when, about three years ago, Lanie Gardner got 51 million views on KZbin for her cover of Dreams by Fleetwood Mac? I thought it was pretty amazing that she got that many views. I love that song though so I was happy. I thought Lanie did a good job, but nobody sings Dreams as well as Stevie Nicks did in 1977. What do you think of the idea of someone going about getting Spotify views by doing a really good cover of a classic song, drawing attention to themselves that way and using that as a springboard to getting views for the original songs they go on to release?
@RockYourBestVocals2 күн бұрын
Great question! If you liked their cover song(s) but not their original music would you listen to their original songs? That may be where personality comes into it 🤷🏼♂️if someone is a ‘super fan’ they will love EVERYTHING… Do you write music and publish somewhere?
@russellspear61882 күн бұрын
@@RockYourBestVocals Good point! I do write but haven't published yet. I'd like to but I injured my voice so before I could record anything and release it, I have to get my voice healthier. I'm working with my vocal coach on that.

is it normal for it to hurt singing like this? i feel like i'm going to explode
@RockYourBestVocals9 күн бұрын
It shouldn't hurt, no... you may feel a 'pressure' but it may be that you are closing off, causing tension and too much pressure in the throat. I have a new course coming soon that explains this in a simpler way that will help you. Stay tuned/subscribed to see that - or sign up to my email on the website to be updated on when it comes out

@RockYourBestVocals11 күн бұрын
That’s a good start for the more powerful sections, but he does also add quite a bit of nuance with pulling back and even using falsetto to color lines… it’s the subtle little things that add the “professional dynamics”

I hoped you would explain if he uses double tracking vocal or not
@RockYourBestVocals11 күн бұрын
Great question! I’m not sure, but usually the chorus is doubled (most singers/tracks), and I believe ozzy may have used chorus in verse (which can sound like doubling) or maybe even doubled. If you’re wondering for your own production, you may want to play with either/both individually and together to see what sounds “best” to you

Scratchy or irritated throat means your true cords are being used, and feeling irritated as a result. This must be avoided to prevent damage.
