The song was composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal. LP went to Kishor Kumar house and presented to him the song. Kishore Kumar was not all that famous at the time. Kishore Kumar was so excited about the lovely melody that he called out everyone in the neighborhood and told them that laxmikantum pyarelalum (he always called them lovingly by that name) made such a beautiful song for me.
