Just discovered you and you are great at what you do! Can you teach rock vocal belts like Chris Cornell, with a more of an open sound on the high notes. If so, do you recommend any of your videos on this subject of how you teach rock vocal belts in comparison to the way musical theater singers belt? Thank you!

Okay so I discovered I actually have more range then I thought? I just didn't know how to place it and it just baffles me..you helped me so much. I just hope I can keep increasing my range even if I had a tonsillectomy.

Wow!! I am so happy for you! And I wouldn't be surprised if you keep increasing it :) Just go slow and listen to your body!

To be able to suddenly belt this out would be so awesome. I'll keep practicing. This was a great guide to keeping the right placement and shapes.

This video means so much to me. I just started my vocal lessons not long ago and I am so confused about how to sing this song well.

Hello! I have a question. When you are singing the beginning part of the song, is it in mixed voice? Thank you😁
@clairehosterman74313 жыл бұрын
Yes, it actually is! It's important to used that mixed voice throughout the song (and not just certain parts) so it sounds consistent. :)

A question: are you dragging your chest voice and placing it forward? What is the proper way of doing it?
@clairehosterman74313 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Yes, we are LIGHTLY dragging the chest voice up (not forcing it) and then using middle voice resonance. There are so many factors in how to belt "properly", but one way is to make sure you are breathing 360 degrees around your body (into your back, sides, belly, and even butt/pelvis!), and do a light yell while aiming the sound in the front of the face. I hopefully will be making more videos in the near future about this--I've just been taking time off and teaching :) Hopefully I'll be able to answer your question in a future video soon!
