He isn't using falsetto on the chorus. He has a well developed mix and is singing in full voice, and just sounding nasal and "childish" isn't how The Weeknd uses his voice. His vocal style is a biproduct of his influences, Micheal Jackson, Aster Aweke, and the music from his Ethiopian roots. He sings the way that best fit's his voice naturally, and one cannot simply sing in his style by sounding nasal unless they were born with the tessitura to do so. More often than not those who attempt to sing in the Michael Jackson, Weekend, and Tevin Campbell style, don't have good timbre. because his style is not simple. Though it comes natural to him. It's very much complex the others who don't sound like him.

Anthony Baso the weeknd uses falsetto he’s famous for it. Especially the bridge of the song is all falsetto. Plus just add nasality and breathiness and its the sound he has. Also another problem is singing like that in chest which this guy is switching to falsetto. Your voice has its limits at that quality. Its not hard at all actually. I can easily use this and never had a voice lesson it just boils down to mimicking correctly. And knowing i cannot sound exactly like him but a close enough. From a technical standpoint the weeknd has awful technique. Especially his earlier stuff. Im a huge weeknd fan but his stuff is relatively easy to sing compare to mj,bruno mars or even sam smith.

Pretty sure Abel is using falsetto mix then dropping into his chest voice in a seamless transition through the mix voice. Ive been practicing it a bit, however i know for sure he isnt doing the whole entire chorus in falsetto.....hes also using his ping electronically naturally....that is not all autotune.....

If you watch a live performance of the hills you would know Abel uses very little autotune on the chorus.

probably no auto tune on his song you can't sing like him for shit he's the best you need practice bro I came here to find out how to know when to do his little vocal things through the song not to sing like you and tbh your voice is alright but that's it in not telling you to stop though keep doing your thing I just find insulting that you said his voice was simple nobody has his voice but him he gets it from so many inspirations and all of them combined plus his Angelic voice he was gifted since he could talk makes him the best alternative r&b singer probably the best singer since I don't know anyone else with his vocal abilities don't ever call The Weeknd simple
