Make sure to choose a key that works best for your voice-and don't count yourself out... with diligent training the voice can learn to do many things!

Whenever you demonstrate straining, you intentionally sing out of tune. So it seems more like an example of being out of tune rather than strain. I would love to hear what you consider strained singing with good intonation.

I hear you! I do find that many people go off pitch (flat) when they are straining to hit the notes, although that is certainly not always the case.
