I'm glad you said that about the cannon flicking in the beginning. I've seen some really good players using that technique, making me think I have to do it as well, but it never made sense to me. I get it helps with field of view but it just can't be worth messing with your aim? All the power to them tho, whatever works for them haha. Thanks for the vids Sponge, you have made hourglass so much more fun to learn over the past month! Also, now I can protect my family when we PVE together ❤️

Not sure when this was recorded, but i believe with the new shipspeed updates, keeping the sail to the side instead of forward makes for a slightly more circular spin. Meaning you'll have to adjust wheel a little less frequently. edit: alltho if the wheel management is as shaky as the one in the video it probably makes little to no difference.

Finally. I never understood that aim up thing. Like I can still see my cannon shot without having to reset back down, so it's way easier just keeping the angle and barely adjusting.

I wish my mouse would give me a little zap everytime I mistakenly prioritize something over angle when it's not locked in. It's already hard enough to run into players that understand orbitals and a straight forward fight lol. It's even worse when I get one and then don't fully capitalize by locking in lmao

Man this is great usefull content. Keep doin it, it will save sooooooooo much time to people who wants to improve and get their curses, and yes i find it more efficient to keep your angle with the canons you spend too much time flicking and eventually in the heat of battle you will lose you angle.

@@massivesponge Since when, yesterday? I've been playing SoT for a couple of years and they've always been gray. I know of a red cloud variant during the 'Ashen Treasures' adventure, but that was in 2019, and this can't be that old of a VOD since you have hourglass on.

@@massivesponge I mean, it's the skeleton fleet cloud over pretty much your whole video, but 2:20 (day) and 7:56 (night) It is normally gray with no internal light. I think I figured it out as I was typing this, was this video recorded between January and April of this year? Apparently the variant came back during that time when the chest of fortune was dropping from fleets.

I'm assuming the person from the VoD isn't a helms main, cause it was pretty obvious when they were overturning/underturning. Solo HG is a struggle. You have to be good at every role. It's why I stopped doing solo HG. I'm mostly just a helms main, I lack in PvP situations.

honestly i get the snipe right before he went to grab cannon. I agree that he shouldve chained ur mast and wheel but if he didnt snipe you, you wouldnt have to get off cannon to eat... which gives him space to not get instantly oneballed on cannon and shoot at you. am i wrong?
