See I just make sure the fuel gets to the low point of the line lower than the tank whilst sucking from the hose above the tank height and when I lower the hose end to below the tank and into the new tank it creates the gravity pull to finish the cyphon... Incredibly useful if you're travelling in convoy and someone runs out of fuel or anything like that for emergency situations... Also really similar to emptying a bar ice tray only the bar ice tray fumes in the hose taste a lot worse than the fuel does... 🤣 Once you start to taste any fumes generally there's enough force pulling into the hose to use gravity to do the rest... Least that's what I've found... If you don't have two hoses and a plastic bag and tape when you break down on the side of the road...
