@@englishmonk When I sit in Burmese position on the ground, I can't seem to really straighten my spine. Sitting on a meditation cushion I can. Do you think this will improve naturally overtime as I keep sitting?
@englishmonk Жыл бұрын
You can use a cushion. With time without a cushion it may get easier but it's up to you. Unless you're in Thailand staying in monasteries then you need to get used to not using a cushion.

Thank you Bhante,Comment only. before I started mediation my life consisted of obsessing about myself. Thinking of myself as the center of the universe. Not being able to see anything else. It was hell. I couldn't sit for long in the beginning but I did it 3 times a day for 2 minutes each, I would say within in a month that crazy mind slowed down enough for me to make changes. So mindfulness, sitting meditation even if done for a very few minutes will help tame that monkey mind and give us the encouragement to grow more.

Do you know if any Buddhist text have made references to the three-point tri-pod stance of the full lotus being a reflection of the Three Jewels of Buddhism? I'm new to Buddhism (I got my copy of The Dhammapada two days ago lol) but I've been googling around while I wait for some other text to come in the mail. It seems fitting that the 'apex' of meditative stances/positions offers three points as a foundation of balance, and that there are three jewels/swirls in the Dharmachakra that somewhat represent the foundations of spiritual development as seen by Buddhist (so far as I can tell that is).

Could you make a similar standalone short video on how to sleep on the floor? Could you share your experiences how to do it wholesomely in different circumstances and climates? How to get a good sleep on the floor? 🙏

To sit comfortable while meditating is pretty important, sure. The problem appears, if you're heaving problems with your miniskus. No position works cause you have to bend your knee so much. Not easy, but I'm trying to make myself slowly flexible for it. I don't wanna sit on a chair. Thats not authentic to me! Namo Buddhaya 🙏 ☀️ 🌴
