Excellent vid as always Dowdy. In February I was trying to skate the bowl like a miniramp. I found that I would become quickly gassed. I followed ur tip from ur vid and prioritized learning how to carve the bowl and I am a much better skater for it. I can fly so fast through the corners front side and and backside! And I can do like 3 laps through the bowl before I get tired. I'm learning the hip now. I'm not above coping or anything but I am lifting my nose up and landing into a pump on them. Appreciate ur vids bc they inspire me a lot and get me excited to shred!

Bro I would LOVE to see you and JB from Skate Park Lessons collab on a video. Talk about skating parks, why skating has changed your lives and how, and just in general watch a sick skate session. I wouldn't care if it was an hour long! I would watch it! He teaches people at Sunnyvale Skatepark. Idk how far you are from there but it would be cool to see you and your homies skate that park as well.

it takes more courage to wear a helmet than not to in most cases. Especially after many videos without. much respect to you for taking care of your self and setting a good example as you teach.

Great video, excellent information. I have just recently started to skate, and although I'm not very good at it, I love the feeling of carving through a bowl, just a fantastic feeling.

Was just discussing this with some one. I have a few working theories on finding in a bowl. One is riding bowls like a MarioKart race. In MarioKart your moving from speed boost to speed boost and avoiding slow down areas. Note the speed boosts in a bowl and find the lines between them. Pockets, hips, bumps, waterfalls are all speed boosts. Second theory is every bowl has a figure 8 line that you can get a ton of speed off of. You can move in and out of the figure 8 line to get speed and hit tricks.

That bowl looks like so much fun. I live out it Chattanooga TN, the closest bowl is Kennesaw or ATL. Ironically I grew up in Boston having only one shitty park my whole life, when I left Boston like 8 years ago they opened up a dope park with 3 bowls.... Granted lack of things to skate have helped me find my love for Slappy curbs

I think Knoxville is about halfway between those two cities. There are two bowls at Tyson Park in case you hadn't been out there yet.

Superb video Zach, loads of great tip in there. Some good ideas and methods I'll give a try today. I've been skating bowls for just over a year now, it's a whole new ball game, hang in there if you're just starting best fun on a skateboard.
