that's because you should use your legs to rotate it 90+ deegres after you reached first 90 degrees of 180. so that means to make it full rotate 180 you should use your legs after 90 degrees and actually do final rotate only with legs just in air. same with 180 flips. catch your flips with already maded around 90 degrees and do final rotate. it's okay to make it 120 degrees and do +60 or 150+30. but still most important thing is to make half of your rotation in air only with legs. if you do it from the ground to 180 that means you suck and it actually retarded, cuz with high drops you will be like always guessing how intesive rotation start from the ground you should do. andrew reynolds is an example of perfect fs. he do it slow and it looks like he shitting the toilet bowl in air but final move he do with legs. legs. rotate. 180. fs. skateboarding. life. gaiiiiiii.

at the end of the day, its all about balance and coordination. just like you bend your knees to get more air for the ollie, do the same for the 180. the more you bend your knees, the higher you'll go.

can someone explain the difference between FS and BS? Ive always heard frontside is doing the trick whilst turning in the direction your chest faces and bs is turning the direction your back faces, but wouldnt that make 2:12 a backside 180? I feel like I learned the incorrect definition for both

You turn towards the way you're moving so When he's in the air and he's turned 90 degrees he's facing forwards and backside 180s you turn away from the direction you're rolling.
